Hastings win 4:3 against Mid Sussex B. A very tight match. Hastings 3:2 down with games 6&7 to play, Sandy Harmer (SandyH) and Phil Osbourne (Ozzie) both held their nerve to win the final two games to give us the win. Unlucky Mid Sussex B, but thanks for a good evening and some good competition.

Having lost both our break games at 1-3 down it was looking hopeless for Horsham, but somehow Eastbourne managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. :o A personal well done to Peter Payne for his opening 6.5k break against me, and to Gandalf for testing tommo to the limit on the chess board and blowing away a few cobwebs!

Hi tommo, I'll always give someone a game of chess, and I've got more cobwebs to blow away (cause there's more space up there ::)) Anyway just to complete the picture of our match last night Well done to Chris Haynes for his first inter league win tonight, we did hear quite a lot about it on the way home particularly as it was against the break, until he fell asleep due to excess alcohol usage. Doh, to Chris Turner who lost a 4k break allowing Dick to scrape hope with a last ball 100 Doh to Roy Jenkins who lost a 3k break allowing Adam to win with a last ball red 200 shot Doh,to lee sunshine who black pegged on the way down leaving john an easy run in Doh, to Stewart who missed both balls on a 30/50 split working on a 3k must have been visiting Jupiter at the time. Still great fun though, once we stop making these regular mistakes we would deserve to be in div 2, perhaps a short term in div 3 will build our backbones a bit. regs cs

Thanks Gandulf & Tommo for the match updates & evenings proceedings, It was another fun filled & pegs spilled night with the Eastbourne team.
I believe a 4-3 Eastbourne win would have been fair but the 'Pendulum' of luck fell in our favour for a change & I was a very proud Captain the way we hung in there & limped over the line.
Special mentions to Pete Hartley who had a solid opening game with the break & Lee Cable for being cool & calm to take the match. (Also to Tommo for his 2-0 chess win! Horsham 6-3 winners on the night...?)

I completely forgot after my shocking game :-[ Congratulations to Hastings on the win, great company and a good laugh last night. BTW get well soon Paul.
