Billingshurst 2 5 Worthing C
A most enjoyable evening, where Worthing C start the New Year with their first win of the 2010/11 Inter-League season. Really do not think either team did the table justice, and must say we had the run of the balls tonight.
Steve Holden * opened with around 1.5k, Carlei Cooper replied with same, Steve first to get them back and built winning break. 6230 -1620 1-0
Rick Cunningham * off at 2.5k, Ding Johnson unable to get balls back, Rick added another 2k, Ding got them back with enough time broke down at 2k, Rick added another 2k. 2280 - 4170 1-1
Gina Sherratt * opened with 800, Keith Newman got them back only to leave one up short, Gina added anther 2k, Keith got 2k, Gina another 1k. 2390 -5020 1-2
Tony Temple * never really got to grips with his home atble and built only 1.5 lead before Edge Butler eventually got balls back tom level the scores, Tony edged ahead as bar went, Edge fought his way back only to come off with two balls left(red being one) at 360 down, Tony potted white but missed the 100 hole, Edge got the 200 2160-2180 1-3
Dave Jones * off at 2k, Steve eely not get them back, Dave pegs at 1k and gives break back, steve off at 600, Dave makes sure. 830 -4490 1-4
Colin Green* did not get hold of table at all, Mick Johnson no luck at all and it developed into a scrappy battle that Colin edged 1510 - 1600 1-5
Chip Sawyer * opended with just over 2k, TJ cleared some good balls but then with a great chance of break back cocked up simple 50/30 shot. Chip added a lovely steadt 5k break, TJ got them back to play most of rest of time out. 7840 - 3680 2-5
Thanks to Billinghurst for their hospitality.

Brighton B didn’t really have a lot of luck in this one. Littlehampton on the other hand made use of everything that came their way to finish 7-0 victors.
Paul Olver was first to the plate but got caught out by the pace of the table and was off early. Sandra Race started the game inn good form and got to about 2k ahead. A second break by Sandra would have assured her of victory. However a contratemps with a peg let Paul in for in the end, a deserved victory. 1-0
Alan Messer played Bella in the next. A misbehaving red spot meant a second start to this game. Bella was looking good but off below 2K. Alan eventually got the balls back to put in nearly 6K. He finished the game with another 4k. 2-0
Marcus was next with the break and with 3 and a half minutes to go was 3K ahead. It was enough time for Eric Hampton to finish with a win 3-0
Next up was Dave Simmonds on his own table. Dave looked a bit edgy and was off fairly early. His opponent Terry Molloy never got to grips with the table and a steady accumulation of points through out the game by Dave was enough for victory 4-0
Dave Hampton played Jean Brackenridge against the break. With the break back, Dave never looked in trouble. Two breaks by Dave gave him a win 9K to 2K 5-0
Jason Clough was finding the going tough against Doug Dawson, but with some assistance in handling his balls from his team mates (!!!) finished an easy winner 6-0
The final game was contested between Alan Brackenridge and Steve Beach. Alan never looked comfortable with the table and Steve completed a clean sweep for Littlehampton 7-0.
A good evening in good company and I thoroughly recommend the Arundel Old Ale at only £2.50 a pint.
