What a shock, poor Fiona. I shall remember Frank for his cheery smile and gentle disposition. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. Could play a bit, too.
RIP Frank,
tommo

Some details are filtering through, and Frank was admitted to East Surrey last week with chest pains. He was due to have a cardiogram but this was delayed due to a very bad and painful cough. He was being transferred to St Georges Tooting in the early hours of Tues/Wed but whilst en route to the hospital his heart stopped.

I have spoken with Fiona a couple of times since the dreadful news arrived. Jo and I will continue to support her at this terrible time. Thankfully she has a close and loving family to give her the support she needs. You may be aware that she doesn't use the forum, but I will pass on all the messages of support. She is already very appreciative of the warmth of affection people have shown her, but she is understandably finding it hard to come to terms with the news at the moment. On a personal note, Frank got me playing in Redhill 11 years ago and we played pairs with some success over the years as well as being team mates. In addition he supported all our events and often played Kent and Horsham as well as the Sussex Interleague. He was a good friend, and a fine man who will be sadly missed. Tuesdays may never be the same!

The family have called to tell me Frank's funeral will take place on Thursday 15th of November at 3pm at the crematorium off the Balcombe Road, Horley. Flowers are from the family only, anyone wishing to make a donation the charity is the British Heart Foundation. We will be raising a glass to Frank at Merstham Village Club afterwards. Fiona has asked me to pass on her gratitude for the kind words and wishes she has received.
