1st DivNigel Bransby V Dilly @ Brewers Henry Brooks V Derek Taylor @ Horns Lodge Mick Kirwan v Adrian white @ 8 bells Ros v Martin Range @ HHUSC Kim Stenning V Paul Blackburn @ Brewers Ron Sheridon has a bye How does this one work out, Bob, are you having more byes in Round Two ? With 11 competitors you normally have 3 matches and 5 byes - exactly as you have done it for the Senior Singles. Not intending to criticize, only asking as I'm getting my page ready for the website. tommo

How did you work out the venues?
In the past these have always been drawn.
I see that Hurst has 2 of the 6 fixtures in the Men's Singles, surely the last fixture should have been at the Fish, Horn's Lodge or St Francis?
It seems odd that Hurst has 4 ties in total, the Fish doesn't have any and the Bells, Horns Lodge and St Francis only have 1 each.

Everything was done through a randomiser app and I felt this was a fair way. It will mean 8 bells fish and others will be used in next round All venues are neutral

I see.
But surely each venue should only be used once for a particular competition eg. the Men's Singles?
I clearly remember that Lorraine used to put each venue number aside after using it, before putting them all back into the draw for the next competition. So I would suggest that if your randomiser app picks a venue for a second time in any one competition, that you should redraw until it picks a different one.
Looking at your original email, both the 2 fixtures that were originally drawn for the Greyhound, were replaced with Hurst after the Greyhound table became unavailable. That doesn't seem very random.

My research shows that he's employing the integers of Pi, thus, 3.14159265359 where obviously 5 = the Hurst Club. Other theories are welcome, but at least it's a fairer system than if he were using Binary ! ;) Have submitted an update showing the amended draw to the MSBBL website: mid-sussexbbl.co.uk/page3.html

After an interesting drive :o I beat Andy 3 - 0 tonight in the Senior Singles. 2 scrappy games and 1 half-decent, all of which I won narrowly.
