I beat Bobhall 2-0 on a lovely Brewers top (15k and 10k).
Then went on to the USC where we played our doubles against Adam and Spud, also winning 2-0. Bit trickier but it was there if treated with respect!

** Important message for anyone drawn to play at the Eight Bells. The table is now located at the Brewers and is the first table that you come to in the lower area (where the pool table used to be). The Brewers table, which hasn't moved, is then up the stairs from there. **

The Bells decided to put a dart board up behind the table. Subsequently they have said they will have a darts team again, which is more profitable (if they manage to get a team going). They were also very upset at rude comments made by visiting neutral teams recently and said they could do without the 'hassle'.
It would be nice if visiting teams could remember that negative comments made at a venue do absolutely nothing to further the reputation of Bar Billiards. Negative comments on pub review sites (sometimes referring to conditions many years previously) which mention Bar Billiards are also very counter-productive.

As far as I can make out (and I'm trying desperately to keep www.mid-sussexbbl.co.uk up-to-date), the closing date appears to have been extended from 6th March to 6th April. With the last League matches this Wednesday, there are then six full weeks for the Cup Competitions to be resolved before the Finals Night on 22nd May. So hopefully Bob will clue us all in and make an announcement soon. ;) |
