Springbok Club 1, Mill House 4 Ron Parsons 550, Graham D 3260 Graham Jarrett 440, tommo 4070 Bill Hicks 1880, Margo 1590 Ken Nixon 510, Alan D 3000 Scubafrog 1680, Mick H 3050
Our first visit to the Boks, and what a nice Club it is. Nothing wrong with the table apart from the break being a little difficult - a good test for the players. Margo's game was cut and thrust but Bill took it well at the end. Lovely food served up afterwards - spicy chicken wings and those nice fluffy rolls with generous fillings of either cheese or ham. Margo started the evening off under a cloud but three large bottles of Bulmers later she came round and I can now hear her falling about upstairs and crashing into things ! ::) Very many thanks to the Springbok Club for a really pleasant evening. 8-)

Dun Horse 1 Stout House A 4
Scott Hope 1450 Tony Clasby 4400 Dave Simmons 3420 John Tidy 3740 Colin Bolton 2090 Pete Hartley 5710 Grant Hope 2050 Pete Trigwell 3160 Stuart Hope 2870 Sam Short 1060
Game 1: Slow start. Nice play later on from Tony left Scott struggling. Game 2: Close game most of the way. JT pulled ahead towards the end. Game 3: Steady game from Pete. Game 4: Another close game, Trig pulling ahead at the bar. Game 5: Rather scrappy game. Pops’ early lead enough.
A rather uninspired match, only Pete H. really got to grips with the table. An amusing evening (despite the billiards ;D) with a bit of friendly banter and a fair bit of chat.

Margo seemed fairly relaxed in the end, and I thought she played some great shots and deserved more from her game. Bill said he was relieved she hit the peg on one or two occaisions otherwise he would have lost. Not the best night at the table for us, but hey that is only a small part of the night. Hope to catch up soon.

After all away teams have the breaks! This should happen more often but billiards is a funny old game :)

This should happen more often but billiards is a funny old game :) Well be that as it may, the headlines this week will be that of the top three teams, two of them crashed at home, the only winners being the Railway - away. Sheer class ! ;D
