Mill House 2, Alfold SC 3
Mill House bombed badly at the hands of a spirited side who played our table well.
Wins for Robin Burgess (5450), the Minor (last ball victory), and Garry Fishburn for them, and Mr Mike and Me for us.
Great to see the restaurant heaving and the car park full. In all the hustle and bustle I think they forgot the teams, so a big thank you to Clare for rustling up plates of cheese and cucumber and ham sandwiches at very little notice. And to our worthy opponents for staying on long enough to devour them. We hope they had a safe journey home.

Dun Horse BFZ Nomads 5
Grant Hope 1310 Hugh Fowler 3530 Dave Simmons 880 Peter Barnett 5130 Colin Bolton 2930 Colin Barrow 4140 Lee Tugwell 850 John Thayre 3890 Scott Hope 1870 Dave Sands 4480
Game 1: Hugh worked hard and kept Grant off the table. Game 2: Barney played a steady game but I beat him hands down on pegs. ;) Game 3: Colin had a good game but Sparrow was more consistent on the break. Game 4: No Pops tonight so Lee stepped up to fill the card. Some nice shots but John always in control. Game 5: Dave played a good game and left Scott some absolutely stinking leaves.
For the second week in a row the table conspired against us... well, that’s our excuse anyway. ;D A fun evening spent in the company of old friends with plenty of chat and a weeny bit of banter. Sandwiches were nice too.

Limeburners 5 Springbok SC 0
B Hammond 2330 A Goacher 0 BP, BP & BP
Alice stepped in again to help out as we were short, but had no luck. Bill struggled early on but had enough in him to claim the point.
M Davies 3150 B Hicks 1400
Bill started OK finding the break, but left up short to let Mark in. Mark was very steady and played some useful shots.
B Goodchild 790 G Jarrett 360
The scores really tell the story, both Brian and Graham struggled. Graham kicked off well but split 4 times, Brian took a lead and BP, but got the table back as bar dropped to secure the match. As Graham stated "This is the most frustrating game I have ever played"
D Dewdnby 3500 T Goacher 1030
I again found the break but left the 1 up short. Dick got the break back and pushed ahead. I did have chances but failed with a nudge or two on the WP, but Dick deserved the game.
C Sawyer 3540 G Marshall 1020
Gaz started brightly but on the split for 1 up the ball kicked out. Chip on home table easily put points on board. Gaz strung together a decent break only to lose the points and that was that.
Pleasant evening, great sarnies and loved the chips. As usual Bills onions were on show and as good as ever. One or two signs this morning they had an effect :-[
