A nervous performance from the Mill and a gutsy one from the Dun, who were all good at potting shots into the 100 hole. Will leave Dave to put his angle on the match. ;)

Mill House 4, Dun Horse 1 tommo 2920 Colin Bolton 1700 Barry 2040 Stuart Hope 2690 Mick 3670 Scott Hope 2500 Graham 7310 Grant Hope 860 Alan Downs 6300 Dunplaying 1300 A nervous performance from the Mill and a gutsy one from the Dun, who were all good at potting shots into the 100 hole. Will leave Dave to put his angle on the match. ;) Game 1: Close game most of the way, tommo pulled ahead in the closing stages. Game 2: Pops opened out a bit of a lead which Barry couldn’t quite catch. Game 3: Bit of a scrappy start, Scott built up a nice lead before Mick stepped up a gear with a steady 3k to the bar. Game 4: Grant started off quite well then Graham took off. Nice 4k from Graham midway. 8-) Game 5: Scrappy start. Alan got going, Dave didn’t. ::) First three games could have gone either way, last two turned rather one sided. Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to the Mill House, a pleasant evening with plenty of chat and a bit of light hearted banter ;D, rounded off with some tasty sandwiches.

Springbok Club 1/2 The Windmill 4 1/2
G Marshall BP S Eely 4390
Steve started slowly finding the break difficult to master. Young Gaz took an early lead until Steve got into the groove. A nasty ball left by the 200 resulted in Gaz BP with Steve clearing up.
G Jarrett 530 N Tomsett 2040
Nigel seemed to master the table quite well and though not a massive score always looked in control. Graham was having a bad day in the office and never got going.
B Hicks 2100 J Tudhope 2140
A Game that had Bill in front for all the minutes bar the last one, when John sunk the last ball into the 200 hole to claim the frame. Good game from both players.
K Nixon 1370 M Lennon 2860
Mike started well and looked comfortable throughout. Ken put together some tidy runs together but could not get the break back.
T Goacher 2310 L Lennon 2310
This game saw both Lin and myself swapping the lead on several occasions. It took me to clear up remaining balls and sink last into the 200 to claim a share of the spoils.
Smashing evening with great company. Have to say our food was special tonight with a piping hot tray of cottage pie as well as sarnies, pork pies, sausage rolls and chicken legs. Reckon the chef is starting to feel sorry for us as the elusive win escapes us once more.
