7. Cicero was a Roman Consul and Philosophor who lived in the times of Julius Caeser.... which seems strangely out of place in the section entitled "Secret War" so I think I have probably got the answer wrong unless Tommo has thrown in a question about the conspiracy against Caeser and Mark Antony of course!! ::) ;D 18. Tenskwatawa, the Shawnee Prophet. 21. The Oglala Lakota Sioux (this seems a very similar question to another recent quiz? :-/) 23. Think we have had this one before as well.... Geronimo! ;D 24. I always find this one easy to remember as it seems strange that Sitting Bull was killed at Standing Rock.... ::)

7 yes, out of context, but you earn the BBW bonus as Cicero only marginally outstripped you with his debating abilities in Roman times ! ;D I can't think what you mean Tommo.... :-[ ;D 7. I think the answer you want could be Elyesa Bazna? Apparently he was an Albanian who sold secrets to the Germans during WW2, although as I had to look it up I should only get 0.5 point.... :-/ 17. The Shawnee.... nice tip about him being the brother of Tenskwatawa! ;D 19. William Harrison, he became the 9th President of the USA and the shortest holder of that office. 20. Florida. 22. Correct, for 0.5 + 0.5 total (would have been 1.5) Known as Cicero apparently for the 'eloquence of his information'. www.bofhcam.org/co-larters/snooping-email/author.html17 correct, 1pt (good opportunism !) 19 top answer, 2pts 20 correct, 1pt 22 enough there for 1.5pts. 22. The Wallowa Tribe, he gained much notoriety during the Nez Perce Wars in 1877 and was much admired for his tactics in battle by the US Military who chased them for more than 1,000 miles through different states. :o 22 enough there for 1.5pts. Keyword for a top answer would have been the "Nez Perce" - of which 'young Joseph' and his father the Old Chief both had overall command. Hmmmm.... which bit of "Nez Perce" wasn't in the answer....? ::) :( The Wallowa were a band of the Nez Perce tribe that lived in the Wallowa Valley in Oregon, before being forcibly removed to Idaho by the US Government despite having previously agreed that the Wallowa could stay in their original homeland when most of the rest of the Nez Pearce had agreed to move in return for being given money and schools in their new reservation. This caused a rift between the two sides of the Nez Perce and the Wallowa ended up being separated and put on a different reservation.

I felt your earlier answer fell ever so slightly short of the mark for slightly undermining the influence of Chief Joseph in leading united tribes (not just the Wallowa) and the disassociation of the term Nez Perce from tribes of Indians - Nez Perce Wars could have meant anything ! Leaderboard: 1 BigPhilMac 15pts 2 BB Warrior 13.5pts 6, 13, 14, 15 & 16 are left.

6. Paris has a real history with balloon flights so I expect that there are many answers that could be given here.... ::) .... I will opt for the Siege of Paris in 1870 when balloons were used to send messages out beyond the Prussian Troops that were besieging the city, but it is probably not the answer Tommo wants. ;D 16. Pontiac's War.... perhaps best known for the first example of "Chemical Warfare" being used with the British trying to infect the Indians involved with blankets that had been exposed to smallpox.... :o
