Phil Knape

I have just heard that Phil Knape died, either last night or this morning, after suffering from mouth Cancer.

I remember Phil as one of the top Mid-Sussex players and had tried for years to get him out of retirement but he had been looking increasingly frail over the years and now I know why.

Phil Knape was a Mid Sussex 'great', winner of the Mens Singles title in 1993/94.
A nice guy with a great sense of humour.
