A close match played at the Firemans Arms, with the first 4 games going with the break, although Derek Taylor needed the last ball to beat Jan Bithell in the 4th game to make it 2-2.
Up to this stage, most of the games had been pretty scrappy affairs with none of the players getting to grips with the back of the table or the side cushions.
Into the decider, Ric Bithell won the toss and chose to break but missed the 1 up shot. Peter Edwards stepped in and opened with a well constructed break of just under 4k, the highest score of the night at that stage, only for Ric to hit back with a 6k break. Although Peter got the break back after just a couple of shots and played the table out to the last ball, he ran out of time and fell just under 1k short in a really good game.
Sorry, I haven't got the match scores, but well played to the Black Horse and good luck in the next round.
