Hi Eastbourne BB Fans
Summary of pre season committee meeting
match start time bought forward to 7.30pm
with only 13 players registering a team league is unmanageable, we have decided to change to a singles and doubles league,
payment to be received at next meeting on 17th at The star where fixtures, adjusted rules and knockout draws will be forwarded
season start 1st Oct consisiting of 11 weeks of singles followed with 5 weeks of drawn doubles then 5 weeks of drawn off the spot doubles
then singles knockout and plate followed by doubles knockout
then handycap knockout and finals night
interleague venue is the hospital club

well, we're into week 3, lost another player, nige pead has got new job in southampton which we wish him well in, unfortunately, also a big gap in interleague team, with gandalf also not playing in eastbourne this year,down to just 11 players in the eastbourne league! makes you wonder if its worth it!

Shame lets hope you can continue and get through this season and prehaps things may look up next year, know you are all working very hard to promote the game. Keep your heads up.

Chris hagger, Chris Turner and Colin Southouse are into the third round of the world championships in jersey
Colin and Chris Turner both had chances of going through undefeated with Chris needing to clear after the bar and Colin failing to keep 5k+ break early on gave Matt ogier and Nigel Ryall their respective group top spots

Turner had a chance against milko who struggled in the first leg but after losing a 2.5k in the second quickly came back with a 16.65k to race into the next round...must have had a sip of gold top during the minute of silence Regs cs |

Sad to say, but it looks very much like Eastbourne may finish at the end of the year, but the good news is that Lewes and Hastings will probably have an extra team next year from the remnants, cs  |

Sad to hear, especially as Eastbourne were the most recently-formed of all the leagues in Sussex.
You also staged the first-ever Sussex Open there, and also the Pairs Competition that was the forerunner of Bournemouth.
Hope you will keep the 'other version' of the game going in the summer !

The new managers are in at the star Eastbourne, I understand that it is shut for Refurb for a few weeks, lets hope the table will still be there!
