Am I right in thinking that you can enter the Team Championship + Special Ladies but can't enter the Mixed Pairs + Over 50's on the same day ?

I believe you could enter two out of three last year when the day included the over 60's as well.

I think Dave can only make a decision when the entries are all in and we can see how many want to do both. So I suggest if you do want to do both let him (or I) know so we can make some plans to see if it is possible.

Surely this is why the over 60's has been moved to a different day so that people can do both the over 50's and the mixed pairs? If not then why move the over 60's?

My decision to separate the over 50s - 60s were based on the following

1. In the past we had FOUR tournaments on the same day (Grand Prix -Over 50 - Over 60 - Under 25) working from an 8 table format causing some players to play on same table twice.

2. Mixed Pairs tournament has suffered with reducing number of entries over recent years, leaving the Post Club half empty with very little profit on a whole day of opening.

From this years Mixed Pairs entries(14) there are (6) who wish to play in both, this number will however change as more entries are received. I will erect 10 tables for these comps so as to make every effort to accommodate those wishing to enter both.

It is however important that Nigel and I know in advance the number of entries to create the format needed for the day.

I hope this has helped those in doubt of our commitment to produce a great day of Bar Billiards for all involved

As far as I am concerned a great day of Bar Billiards is not in question, as you always ensure this.

We do though want to be able enter both the Mixed Pairs and Over 50's.

If this becomes a difficulty would you kindly let us know.
