Is it me or do The Mill (House) seem to get a bye to the semi`s every year lol Jealousy is not an endearing attribute, Wolfie ! Look on it as a sort of "seeding".......like in the Chess world, where the top banana automatically qualifies and the contenders have to play off for the right to play him.

Three Bees 1 Dun Horse 4
Lin Lennon 50 *Dave Simmons 7970 *Steve Eely 4610 Stuart Hope 930 John Tudhope 2510 *Grant Hope 3340 *Dave Tomsett 2340 Colin Bolton 4170 Mike Lennon 1500 *Scott Hope 4980
Game 1: Dave found the pockets, Lin found the pegs. Game 2: Steady game for Slippery Steve, frustrating game for Pops. Game 3: Grant started well, Tuddy caught up, Grant put together a couple of 1k breaks, Tuddy mopped up. Game 4: Closer game than the score suggests. A 2k6 from Colin midway opened out a nice lead, Dave under pressure took out a peg on about 1k8. Game 5: Pressure off, entertaining shots from Scott and Mike.
A fun evening rounded off with Scampi & Chips.

White Hart 4 Springbok Club 1 R Padfield 6710 G Marshall 1930 Interesting draw this with young Gazza potentially almost related to the Ricky. Gaz started with a modest score just short of a grand, Ricky responded with half of that again. The young one could not get started and with Ricky stepping a couple of big breaks proved the elder statesman still has it C Barrow 2480 B Hicks 1740 A closer affair with Sparrow starting slowly, but Bill was unable to capatilise. Scores relatively close throughout with Bill chipping away at Sparrows modest lead. A decent break at the end secured this game for the bird man. P Barnett 6920 T Goacher 0 Blimey what can I say, other than sorry to my team members and my opposition. I was simply awful and owing to my utter disappointment in myself was possibly a complete buffoon. I split 4 times, Barney stepped in with 2 rather decent breaks. I BP to save any embarrassment. . Barney was very much on form and had I even made a reasonable attempt would not have got close to him. J Thayre Mike Edwards Unfortunately John was unwell and unable to make it so Mike took the point on a walk over. D Sands 2460 M Miles 1140 Poor Malcolm left the split up short on two occasions letting Dave take control. Though Malcolm made every effort to get back into it, Dave kept a cool head to make it a clean sweep on the night. A pleasant enough night, with good company. Thanks to Simon for the sandwiches.

Scores from Stout A 0, Roffey 5
Glyn 3,510 *Pete T 1,500 *Twiggy 2,410 Tidy 2,350 Dick 1,540 *Sam 1,180 *Jim 2,790 Tony 2,760 Lee 4,800 *Pete H BP
As Jim said the table was tricky and three of the games could have gone either way, with Tony being particularly unlucky & Tidy being one shot short of victory. But hey ho!
Very big thanks to Trevor & the Springbok for once again providing a great atmosphere & lovely food.
