Glynde Club v Black Horse Rott.
Colin Southouse 1230 v 7490 Alan Brackenridge Mike Daw 4180 v 2030 Brian Muggeridge Fred Pope 0 v 7780 Nigel Senior Sandy Harmer 2680 v 1640 Kevin Stoner Nigel Pead 4530 v 2600 Jean Brackenridge
Alan played steadily and recovered the break several times unlike his opponent tonight who managed it less than once.
Mike managed several medium sized breaks on his way to 4k while Brian had a few chances with the break but fell foul of the tricky left hand 50 hole as did several of us. Fred and Nigel both found scoring difficult initially but Nigel kept slightly ahead throughout and once eventually Nigel had sussed the table and break a quick fire 6k to the bar bought some well earned respectability to his score, leaving Fred to take down the black with the last ball.
With the table playing trickily all night, Following an attempt by Little legs to assault the Ladies toilet door with a headlong dive along the gently rising carpeted ramp, Sandy did enough to come out on top of Kevin in a scrappy game which bought the hosts to a tied match with all to play for in the decider.
Nigel sat in the corner expecting a long wait, but jean was off early giving Nigel his chance to pounce and make a telling 2k break. Jean and Nigel continued to share small breaks but the deficit remained throughout the game leaving a very satisfied Glynde team to take the honours thanks to our OTHER Hastings Heros and our last minute signing.
