Cracking tussle at the Stout House, with the Zeds getting their own back for last year.
Stout House Z 3, Mill House 2 Junkie 1640, Graham 5400 (Graham's lead was under 1k for a good part of the game until he slotted into the groove with 3k at the end.) Vernon 9810, tommo 190 (tommo humbled, a feeling of "coming third" : at least we shared ten thousand even if the other greedy b*gger got most of them !) Tricky Dicky 6090, MrMike 3300 (Mick was in control until Dicky played out with just under 4k at the end) Dorsal 2420, Johnny Aceed 3020 (Andy in profligate mood, Johnny downed a decisive 880 towards the end with one of the unluckiest pegs I've seen, but Andy running out of time) Rick Langridge 6870, Alan 2580 (Alan battled bravely and pulled off two excellent reds off the side cush to the 100, but Rick nailed it with a big break at the end)
Table a good test for all the players tonight, with the home team playing something nearer to what we know they are capable of.
News from Southwater is that the visitors failed to show. With reports of a bad road accident near Alfold Crossways I hope that the Springbok weren't amongst those involved.

Hugh has a win in his last game before retiring to the Isle of Wight says it's to far for a home game! Wish Hugh well from us, and for his information here are the places in the IOW where he would be able to visit for a game:
Picked up from the Good Pub Guide 2012: BUDDLE INN, ST CATHERINES ROAD, NITON UNDERCLIFF, ISLE OF WIGHT P038 2NE (Great pub, we've visited here - it's near the lighthouse - and had a nice meal. The addition of b-bs makes it perfect.......) So, despite the tables having long since gone from the venues visited by the Horsham touring party in 1977, at the latest count five tables exist in the Isle of Wight (all non-League of course): The Princess Royal, 25 Cross Lane, Newport, I.O.W. PO30 2JL Dairyman's Daughter, Arreton Village Barn, Main Road, Newport, IOW PO30 3AA Cliff Hall Hotel, 16 Crescent Road, Shanklin, I.O.W. PO37 6DJ Bonchurch Inn, Bonchurch Shute, Bonchure, Ventnor, Isle of Wight PO38 1NU The Buddle Inn, St Catherines Road, Niton Undercliff, IOW PO38 2NE Any reports received back from Hugh as to whether or not these actually still exist will be welcomed !

Roffey SSC 2 Railway 3
Shaggy beat Sniffer Twiggy lost to Boggy Moose lost to Clacky (who will probably post scores) Foxy lost to Nigel Dick beat Ozzy Shaggy 9430 Sniffer 1750 Sniffer gave Mick one chance to many, not a good idea! Twiggy 4020 Mark 5250 Great game, Dave pegged out a couple of time and let Mark in for a 3K break at the end. Moose 2280 Clacky 6990 Ever stevens til Mick got a 4K break to take the game. Foxy 2730 Nigel 6680 Again even game until Nigel put together a fighting 4K break. Dick 6470 Adam 3350 In my opinion best break of the night by Dick, unable to remember exactly what it was though (beer induced memory loss). Thanks to the Roffey boys for a great evening and superb grub.

Alfold 4, Stout A 1
An excellent evening at the Club, our performance marred by a jet lagged Tidy, an unlucky Tony (pipped at the post) & some great home table playing by Alfold. Scores:
Robin 3160, Tidy 1280 Dave 380, Pete H 7120 Garry 4600, Tony 4020 Malcolm 6360, Pete T 850 Cliff 5570, Sam 1200
Tony's game was a real tussle, Cliff played superbly in the last, & I seemed to like the table with Dave being really unlucky.
Thanks guys!
Pete
