my table has the d but no spots. from reading various posts ive found that the spot for the red ball is 17 to 18 cm from center of the d. what about the skittles do they have spots? we have been putting the front one centered just in front of the 200 hole, and the rear two where the center lines of the 100 and 20 holes would intersect. could anyone tell me if this is correct and if not please tell me the correct placement thanks kenny

You need to look at the rules and playing conditions on the All England site (menu tab above) where you will find the table layout.
These do however assume that your Sams is a standard playing width (32 inch) rather than a narrow one (28 inch).

I have the narrow one im getting 27 3/4" for the width. I figure I can use the same for the black skittle but the whites will be different because of the width difference. I was reading that most of the sams tables were narrow so there has to be something somewhere on how to spot these tables. the search continues cheers, kenny

ok so heres what I came up with: 1 my table is 4" narrower than a regular table
2 aebba calls for 17.8cm from centerline of 100 hole which is 7 inches
3 taking account for the four inch difference if I put them 5 inches from centerline it should work?
4 this measurement puts the spot at the intersection of the centerlines of the 100 hole and the 20 holes does this sound about right?

Not sure how much we can help you now, all mainstream experience is for standard width tables. Even the East Anglia boys may not be a lot of help with their narrower tables as they play four pin.
I believe the normal position for the red ball spot on narrower tables (which are longer) is halfway between the 'D' and 200 hole.
