Peter what a shock. i used to enjoy our little chats at the opens. She was a lovely lady and will be greatly missed.
My deepest and most sincere condolences, and I'm sure that's echoed throughout the bar billiards fraternity around the country.

MORE FROM PETE:
This obituary appears in last night's Northampton Evening Telegraph :
FARRELLY My beloved wife Peggy died on October 30th 2007, aged 59, just two days before her long-awaited retirement, after a second fight against the evil they call Cancer. The bravest woman I know also leaves daughters Tracey, Julia and Carolyn, their husbands Leon, Vaughan and Jamie, and grandchildren Sarah, James, David, Fiona, Richard, Paige and Joshua who all adored her for her many attributes including sensitivity, charm, devilish sense of humour but, above all, love and caring for others in adversity. Her other unique qualities have never been given a name, but her final joke may have been to hide my glasses because I have not found them yet! The funeral will be at the Salvation Army, Church Street, Rushden, where we were married in 1975 and renewed our vows 30 years later, on Tuesday 6th November at 10.30 a.m. followed by interment at Rushden Cemetery and a celebration of my wonderful wife at St John Ambulance Rooms, Fitzwilliam St where all friends will be welcome. Please wear or carry anything pink in her honour. No wreaths, but any single flower can be brought and buried with her, and any other donations to Crazy Hats Breast Cancer Appeal, c/o Abbotts & Sons Funeral Directors, Bedford Road, Rushden to mark her determined 14 year battle. Love PETE

This morning I attended Peggy's funeral along with many others, the service at The Salvation Army church was nice, there were lots of people with pink clothing on and the sun shone at the cemetary, I sat with Dave Barnes and Ken Hussey and their wives. Pete looked well and it was nice for me to see Carolyn again and give her a big hug. I'm told that Pete is going to Jersey, so there will be many of you who can see him and wish him well. Pete, I forgot to say earlier, have a good time!
Ian

Thanks for the report Ian and good to hear that Pete looks as well as possible in the circumstances.
Making the trip to Jersey and taking part will be the best possible therapy for him.
