Don't be silly, Dicky ! v v STOUT HOUSE A V THREE COMPASSES (Postponed match being played 7th Apr)
If you look at the fixture list above, you will see that the Stout House A are away to the Limeburners.
The Stout House Zeds are at home to the Three Compasses.
A JT typo ?
Who`s silly now

I can understand the confusion from being buried under the sheer weight of postponements........ .......but you should know better than to suggest this: They're rarer than rocking horse $hite - he's not called Tidy for nothing, you know !

Hi Everybody
With the A Team's regular Reporter now based in Ipswich during the week I thought that I would complete a report for the match between the Mighty A Team and the Three Compasses
Before the match started, there was a minor crisis when the Silver Fox appeared to play in HBBL's Mixed Doubles Semi Finals. Fortunately for me, his partner and six other players went to the correct venue
So the result of the match was a 5 - 0 win for the Mighty A Team, which is a very flattering result considering that three of the games were very close
Pete T 2,600 Lewis 2,430
A close game with the lead changing throughout, Lewis missed the 100, Pete didn,t
Sam 2,460 Andy 650
Sam took early control whilst Andy helped their Peg Fund by finding a way of hitting every peg from every direction
Me 5,390 Carl BP
I started badly and was fortunate in that Carl lost a 1k break early in the game. A mid way break of 2k restored order for me, followed by another large break at the end of the game when Carl was kind enough to leave the only ball on a peg spot
Tony 3,690 Jason 2,140
Jason helped Tony's cause when he left the opening break short, then after reducing Tony's lead to about 200 points, he repeated his break shot. Another 1k from Tony sealed his win
James 3,260 Jacob 3,140
Up until the last minute Jacob was in the lead, with two balls left Jacob wanted to keep the red up for the 100 pocket. You can guess what happened
It is nice to see the improvement in the Compasses team, and I can see them winning a match in the near future, preferably not against the Mighty A Team
Many thanks to Barry for the sandwiches
JT

Table unforgiving tonight, Mel however got to grips with it with a 3k6. Everybody else struggled with it to varying degrees.

A cracking match tonight at Peggy's gaff........ Roffey SSC 3, The Mill 2 Twiggy 3870, tommo 7040 Foxy 9240, Alan 2910 Dick 3810, Mr Mike 7600 Moose 5210, Graham 4320 Shaggy 6070, Barry 3550 Definitive game was the fourth, Moose incurring Peggy Sue's wrath and losing about 3k but recovering well at the end to deny Graham. A fun though competitive evening with the lads and good selection of sarnies from Terry. What price now a 3-way tie for the Championship ? (No, groans Tidy)

PREDICTIONS
Stout House Z 5 Compasses 0
Stout House Z 3 Roffey SC 2
Springbok Club 1 The Mill 4
Stout House Z 4 The Blue Ship 1
We will have to wait and see if I am correct

Railway 5 Springbok Club 0 Skippy 3,460 Bill 1,550 Steady game from Adam, Bill played some super shots and gets better every time I see him play. Nigel 3,650 Alice 740 Alice always up against it playing Nigel the destroyer Ray 2,850 Malcolm 1,830 Malcolm in control for first half of the game, Ray showed patience and finally got the break back to win Mick 4,250 Gary 1,310 Gary off early allowed me in but I mucked up, finally got break back to take the point Mark 1,290 Trevor 1,130 We use the term 'war of attrition' describe some games, this was definitely trench warfare!
So, apart from 'fixing' the draw, playing stone-paper-scissors to decide the nearest ball after the bar had gone and Bill needing to go early (lambing), he could'nt wait for the Baaah to go. We have played our last home game at the Railway, I can hear the chorus of disappointment from the rest of the league at missing out on playing on our super duper top next year. Adam, Boggy and I will be looking for a new home, so if anyone is really desperate give us a shout.
We had an excellent night with the Springy boys and girl, splendid grub from Stella.

Roffey and the Zeds both have control of their own destinies, but of course have to play each other in the last game, which is favourable to The Mill. So: may the best team win !

It's taken me a week to recover so I can comment on this blatantly fixed game . Firstly, Adam played blooming well to get the break back from a loaded table and yes Bill was unlucky. Alice never had a chance, as a budding hairdresser playing Nigel was more than she could bear (TIC TACS) Super sub Ray put the frighteners on Mike early on clearly a case of getting a ringer in Clacky played for the sympathy vote and got to young Gazza with tales of woe. The young one is just too respectful and refused to put Mick to the sword. And as for Mark and my game . Not a lot to say really though to have the closest ball decided by paper-scissors-rock is a new one on me, and they never asked if I minded, (which I didn't ) As ever a great night, sad that they will not be in the league next season, it has been an iconic venue over the years. Hope to see some of the lads about and we would welcome any of them to us. Plenty of grub from Stella was appreciated as ever.

Echoed from this quarter......we do hope that Ian and Stella don't get rid of the table, as knowing the Railway's tendency towards "bounce-backability" a new team will emerge a year or two hence. And of course we'd be up again for the Christmas session of 31's, all being well.
