Just need to re-cap
Breakfast rolls from 10am
Bar open from 10am
Colin is buying the first drink
Gawd my heads hurts already
Hopefully will be a fun day with some bar billiards played in-between us drinking and eating and drinking more
BTW table has been recovered, had one game on it earlier and the best break I got was only 1100

Another enjoyable day at the Bay Horse with the narrow table, took too long for us to get used to again but still great fun with the nice crowd of locals pitting their cues against a team of Eastbourne 4 pin wide table stalwarts
Sudbury rules in tow today, toss for break, though double break, must play the red, base line in play, any pocket off any cushions to finish
Three rounds were played from 10am to 6pm
Scores as follows Round 1 Bay Horse (10,930) 5 - 1 (4130) Eastbourne
Brenden Hoare 1700 v 0 Colin Southouse (last Ball Game Colin BP'd needing 200 to win) Steve Hale 2540 v 390 Bob Osborne ( Bob Bp'd late on) Jeremy Fry 1290 v 1300 Phil Osborne ( Phil won with a last ball 200) Jason Lawrence 1720 v 530 Chris Haynes Colin Norlage 1730 v 700 Peter Payne Dave Lillie 1650 v 1110 Mike Reilly
Round 2 Bay Horse (8290) 4 - 2 (7080) Eastbourne
Dell Atton 750 v 2060 Colin Southouse Dave Lillie 1590 v 830 Bob Osborne Brenden Hoare 1320 v 700 Chris Haynes Jason Lawrence 1180 v 570 Peter Payne Colin Norlage 1190 v 680 Mike Reilly Steve Hale 1960 v 2240 Phil Osborne
Round 3 Bay Horse (10,330) 3 - 4 (9250) Eastbourne

Final Score 12 - 7 Well done the Bay Horse team for a good win, with the visitors losing too many breaks again, looking forward to next year up north i'm sure we will do better.
undeafeated players were dave Lillie, Jason Lawrence and Phil Osborne
Thanks to Dave for inviting us up there again

It was a really fun day down the bay horse and we cant thank the Eastbourne gang enough for coming up to Suffolk and taking part.
Under orders from tommo I decided to take the day semi seriously and didnt have my first beer until 20 past 10, cheers to Colin.
Once again the narrow top played it's part, there were no big scores or breaks, only four final scores of over 2000. But for us it was all about taking part and having some fun and that wouldnt of happened if the Eastbourne players hadnt of joined in and played in the true spirit of four pin, there was plenty of friendly banter throughout the entire day.
I think we must single out Chris Haynes for not only teaching everyone the black peg shots, but then after over 8 hours of playing he still managed to organise a game of killer to finish off a great day. Although how Jason managed to win is a mystery and an even greater mystery is how the prize pot was over £15
Once again Thank you to each and everyone of the Eastbourne team for making the trip up to Suffolk and making it such a fun day and we are looking forward to coming down for a return match in the near future

Perhaps others ought to take a trip outside their comfort zone play a different version of the game, at new venues, playing new peyople, making new friends, its all very refreshing relative to the normal same same same stuff the majority of us bb players participate in.

I think quite a few people now realise just how different 4 pin is and just how challenging and more fun it can be. I would guess that until a few years ago some had heard of 4 pin but frowned on it and very few of you had played it. Last year we had 64 entries for our open which I hope proves that some people like playing what you probably think of as an alternative version of your game
