Some mouthwatering games in prospect, many of the ties having a good 'balance' about them......
There will be a new name on the Team Plate (Plough v Dun Horse B) and on the Senior Singles (1st appearance for both Junkie and for the Warrior);
6-times winners Roffey Y meet Stout BB in the Cup Final. The BB's won it the year before last, the Y's last win being four years ago.
In the Div.2 Singles, 3-times winner (but not last year!) Dave Lennon faces teammate Steve Eely in his first appearance.
The Mens Singles pits first-timer Dave Ingram against Dick Dewdney, winner in 2001/02 and 2005/06. Whereas in the Ladies Singles, 4-time winner (but not last year !) Lorraine Hall is up against the reigning champ, Ros Appleby.
Jim Greensted, in his third consecutive Masters Final, crosses swords with 2-time winner Mick Fairs, his last appearance in the Final being 3 years ago.
The Mixed and the Mens Doubles have thrown up some interesting combinations too....
Lorraine and Jim will be going for a hat-trick of titles, whilst Lin and Dave Lennon were runners-up in 2011/12. Lin has two previous titles under her belt though from back in the 1980's !
Whilst in the Mens, tommo and Warrior must start as the underdogs never having won the title, tommo having been runner-up three times (well into the last century) - each time with a different partner (J.Slee, A.Gilbert, J.Turner). Whereas John Miller has won the cup twice with Peter Gibbs - and Vernon Sparkes once in 2001/02 with John Slee. Junkie was also runner-up in 1994/95 with Brian Marten.
Good luck to all players tomorrow night - let's make Finals Night a good'un !

Playing with a current England International puts you as favourites in my book.

Fully Agree with Tommo some very exciting Finals. Please make the effort to come along and support those taking part. Could all Finalists be there well in time & ready to start play for 19.30 prompt. Also don't forget to bring along any donations to the raffle as this helps to pay for all those lovely trophies.
See you all tomorrow night.

A truly memorable finals night, and I'll try not to spoil things by announcing the winners as I expect either Ian or Hoppo will be on here with a full list later. Suffice it to say, following on from this: Lorraine and Jim will be going for a hat-trick of titles, whilst Lin and Dave Lennon were runners-up in 2011/12. Lorraine and Jim got their hat-trick, and my reservations about the strength of the past Pairs winners proved founded, with Junkie putting away the last 100 at the first attempt to win the first and Vernon kicking off with a textbook 8k to make it 2-0. This after Dave had scored 25,000 over two legs to win the Seniors ! It was good to see the intense rivalry between the Stout House BB and the Roffey Club Y.....The Y's retaliated to the impressive T shirts sported by the BB's printed HDBBL League Champions 2013/14 by thrashing them 4-1 in the Team Cup Final, and then Terry printed off some labels to stick to their shirts along the lines of Swervy Bally Champs 2013/14 - or something similar. Special thank yous to Sparky for preparing four good tables all suitable for high scoring, and to SCBBA's Jean Brackenridge for bringing along the following County awards to add to the evening's presentation ceremony. Sussex Mens Doubles Plate Winners: Ricky and Dick Dewdney; Interleague Home/Away Div 3 Runners-up: Billingshurst; Interleague One-Day Div 2 Champions: Horsham. (Jean tells me Dave Ingram has a Sussex Team Captains R-u award to come.) Other thankyous will no doubt come, but a big well done to our Competitions Secretary Steve Hopkins for running things so smoothly and more or less to schedule enabling us to be home by midnight !

Other thankyous will no doubt come, but a big well done to our Competitions Secretary Steve Hopkins for running things so smoothly and more or less to schedule enabling us to be home by midnight ! I would echo the views of Tommo and thank Steve Hopkins, Ian Giffen, Sparky and everbody else involved in the organising and running of the evening, I know how much hard work goes in to running this type of event. Congratulations to the winners, commiserations to the losers on what proved to be a very enjoyable evening and a good advert for Horsham Bar Billiards League.

A great finals night with attendance up on last year. Some great matches including the Ladies Final which went down to the last few balls in the decider. Some good banter flying round between certain parties. Congratulations to Steve Hopkins on a well run evening & again thanks to Sparky for the tables also to Margo & Ding for extracting your money for the raffle. I will leave it to Steve to post the full results.

I have done a website page on Finals Night but unfortunately (being Bank Holiday) it is taking a while to propagate through from my service provider. Here's a preview: www.horshambarbilliards.co.uk/page5.html
