One of the things that I think our game needs is a place on the web that better describes what Bar Billiards is and how it's played. We of course have a lot of great websites maintained already for various leagues and associations, and they hold a lot of important and relevant information for the players themselves. However, it came to my attention that there is nowhere for the "new" player, nowhere that explains what Bar Billiards is for someone who has never seen or heard of the game before. One question I've always asked of people is "how will the game grow if nobody has the ability to quickly know what the game is" Other games like Darts and snooker (once small little communities like ours) don’t have that problem, yet it's a big problem we still face. A good example would be this. A couple of guys go into a pub somewhere in England, and see a Bar Billiards table not knowing what it is. So they Google it on their phone, and they can probably find mention of it, but not how to play it. How better would it be if, for example, one of the first things they saw was an instructional video on Youtube showing them clearly how to play. They may be inclined to give it a try. .......and now we have exactly that, a 20 minute video of some guys and a gal having a crack at the game and learning the rudiments !The film was shot in the Pembury Tavern, Hackney - a place I have been to and gave a report on my visit (see under Bar billiards in London).

.......and now for some comments......... - Pegs in the wrong place, never seen them put at the back of the holes before !
- tommo cringed when a pint of beer was handed over the table right in front of the player whose break was in progress !
- Looking at the YouTube comments, there has been a great deal of interest shown from abroad (Netherlands, Canada, the Far East) along the lines of "I'd love to play this, I must buy myself a table"
- This sort of 'live situation' video has probably done more to endear the game to the public than any we 'semi professionals' on here have produced in showing perfect but repetitive play.
Oh, and I loved the bit when the player with more experience than the others tried (but failed) to cut the red into the 200 hole and his mate said "I thought you might have tried to pot that one in the 200". Pure SilverFox !

Thanks for this. I just purchased a table in Texas and few of my friends know the game. I'm gonna qr code the video and post it with and instruction sheet (if I can find one).
