The top two teams met on a surprisingly quiet evening at the Laughing Fish.... Giggling Kippers 5 Albion 1 Tony Jenner 2,070* - 2,630 Matthew Knight Neither player got going, Silent taking the game right at the end including a 200 shot after the bar had dropped. Ian Lelliott 2,340 - 1,640* Michelle Baden Another game where both struggled to get to grips with the table, Ian getting a late break to take the game out of reach. Bill Kerr 1,660* - 1,620 Kevin Stoner In the balance all the way, Bill taking the win by clearing the last 5 balls and sinking the 100 shot first time. Dave Ingram 6,560 - 570* Brian Muggeridge Brian gave me an early chance and I touched on 5.5k, the rest of the game was much like the first 3 games. Ian & Tony 1,180* - 710 Michelle & Little Legs Ian lost his opening 1k break and it was downhill all the way from there, plenty of goes for everybody but the balls just did not want to go down the holes. Bill & Dave 5,650 - 890* Jack Baden & Brian Jack unfortunately lost his opening break and Bill knocked in a 3.5k break, lots of good shots from Jack after that but not so many from the rest of us although I did get the break back near the end! The table was not as good as it usually is last night but it meant that everybody got lots of goes.... enjoyable evening in good company with a tasty pasta thingie to keep us all from starvation.

The table was not as good as it usually is last night I will look into that - was beautiful two weeks ago - I'm guessing a very busy weekend and a lot of children might have had something to do with it. I gave it a quick check and clean yesterday but it obviously needs a bit more work. Plough 3 - 3 Laughing Fish *Geoff Fairs 3450 - 3100 Ray Carpenter Ric Bithell 3810 - 2260 Jim Ashford* *Dave Knight 2210 - 3070 H Jan Bithell 1620 - 2230 Andy Brooks* *Ric & Darren 0(BP) - 5990 H & Les Jan & Dave 2200 - 1110 Andy & Jim* New Plough table was very nice, just a tad whippy, and having consumed a little bit too much cider earlier in the day, I struggled to get hold of it - but I really can't fault it. Good night with the Plough once again, and another draw for us.

Mick was going to post this, but I guess he hasn't had time.
HHUSC 3 Brewbells 3
Darrell 420 Derek 1410
Mick 4030 Tony 2280
Hugh 930 Adam 730
Liz 1000 Ros 1380
Darrell & Hugh 2700 Derek & Tony BP
Mick & Liz 300 Ros & Trevor 2570
The game between Hugh and Adam Bateup was surreal. Hugh lost his opener. At 7 mins gone, the only score on the board was a small 50 to Adam. At 11 minutes, Adam still had 50 and Hugh had 20. No black pegs had been involved, neither were any breaks of more than a few hundred lost! Both players then managed to accumulate the odd score. When the bar went, Adam was still slightly in front, but Hugh then worked out where the holes were and cleared up to take the win.
