Am I correct in thinking that these will now be played at Didcot Conservative Club.... starting with the Division 1 County Championships on Sunday 21st September? With less than 3 weeks to go until then, I was wondering if they were going to take place at all this year based on the amount of publicity it has received....

I did speak to Nigel about this a few days ago and he said he will put up a list of comps with entrants in the next few days, so would say watch this space!

Can a lady play in the county team and in the ladies singles? I am afraid I am going to have to rule this out. 5 county games + 5 double leg game = 10 tables (and 15 legs). We only had 9 tables last year.

The Ladies IKO should not in my belief be put at the same time as this team competition next year.
Some are required for the team and therefore cannot enter the IKO Ladies.
Could not the Ladies and Mens IKO be on the same day with maybe over 50's 60's, just a thought re what goes with it.

Can anyone let us know what the closest railway station is to the venue please, cheers Gary Hi Gary, You will need to get the train to Didcot Parkway, then you can either get a taxi from the station which will take about 5 mins or you can walk by turning right out of the station follow the road along until you get to the roundabout turn left and carry on up this road and Didcot Con. Club is on the left, I think its directly after Lydalls Road. I should think you can walk it in 15 to 20 mins xx

Further to yesterday, having a train to catch, I left as late as I could. I was the LAST person to leave the hall with nine tables and all the peripherals to be put away for storage and just Dave Alder there. The Sussex boys had helped us get the tables on their ends.
This is identical to my experience in Bournemouth last March.
Some form of assistance must be decided upon for the remainder of the Didcot weekends. If the long suffering secretary says enough! there is no sign of anyone else prepared to put that amount of effort in.

Sav. yep , well done Sav and Dave, some of the oxon boys also helped us , I think we need to insist that the comp does not end when the trophies are handed out... it ends when the tables are put away!

I just want to say well done to Jean on winning the Ladies AE Individuals yesterday. She played really well all day, especially coming back against Carla and Anita. Sorry I had to leave before seeing you receive the trophy, but I got a call to say the ceiling had fallen down in my lounge :( I did ask Dave before I left, so I knew you had won. Well done to Pauline as well, never nice to lose it on aggregate.

Thanks Dawn. Was pleased with how I played considering I had only got the cue out the case once in the last 3 months. Chuffed to come back from 5k and 6k deficits against Carla and Anita.
Thanks to everyone who helped and ran the day.
Unlucky to Paulune as usual we had a great game against each other. Having lost last year on aggregate I know how it feels. I love playing this day everyone supports each other and always a great competition.
Hope your ceilings ok and not too much damage x

Congratulations Jean on winning the Ladies All England Singles yesterday. Yet again a very exciting finish to a good day of Ladies Bar Billiards. Jean and I had no idea after playing our last game with me just coming out on top giving us the same number of games won who had won the title, but I was pretty sure it was going to be Jean, in the end Jean was about 6,000 up on aggregate to take the title. xx Well done also to Dawn, Anita & Carla for giving us all some good games especially Anita in her debut A E Singles for coming back at me and winning the points. Thank you to Dave and everyone else involved yesterday for a very successful day. It is very much appreciated what you all do to keep all these competitions going. It is my lifeline because as many of you know Carol & I are going through a very emotional time in our lives with the changes in Catherine and her rapid decline but it has been nice that she has been able to come along for a while Sunday and last Sunday to see you. xxx
