Dun Horse 3 Springbok Club 2
Grant Hope 1720 Gary Marshall 3070 Scott Hope 6150 Robin Burgess 1880 Dave Simmons 2680 Mike Edwards 1470 Colin Bolton 2730 Bill Hicks 2540 Stuart Hope 4400 Robin Burgess 4490 (4 player rule)
Game 1: I missed this one, I gather Grant lost a sizeable break. Game 2: Came in on the end of this one, Scott had it under control. Game 3: Was there for this one! Mike played well, Dave did just enough. Game 4: Colin in front for most of the game but Bill kept him under pressure. Game 5: With Rob playing under the 4 player rule, Pops broke off with 2k which Rob matched. Pops pulled out another 2k lead, Rob played out for 2k and potted the last ball in the 100 to win by 90. Cracking game!
Enjoyable evening with the Springbok, finished with some very tasty beefy sandwiches.

Alfold 1, Stout House A 4
Cliff 450, Tidy 2190 Kelly 530, Sam 2190 Garry 6190, Tony 2680 Dave 2470, Pete T 4320 Bradley 2320, Pete H 2360
The first two games mostly played at the far end of the table, both Cliff and Kelly having no luck at all. Garry's masterful performance from behind was too much for Tony, Dave fought back well against a 3k+ opener from Pete T, and Bradley played really well, taking full advantage of my useless start and hitting some really decisive shots - indeed a star for the future - I think if he'd used the red when he could have he would have won.
Another good evening with the Alfold crowd and thanks for the hot food afterwards - most welcome on the coldest night of the year so far!
Pete

As Adam has said Railway win 3-2 against Mill. I don't have the score, Margo took them and I assume the old boy with the dog who was loitering outside the Windmill will post.
All I will say is I had my first peg of the season, I played Vikky. One of us is young and svelte...the other one is me.

...I assume the old boy with the dog who was loitering outside the Windmill will post. ...that must be me. Mill 2, Railway 3 Barry 4760, Sammy 5410 Alany 4730, Boggy 670 Vicky 4950, Clacky 2920 Johnny 630, Stuey 5020 Micky 1500, Sk1ppy 7730 If t'Mill were to lose their first match of the season, pleased that it was to the Railway. Clacky had a premonition of doom when he knew he had to play Vicky, who goes from strength to strength with a 3k break and another PB. But at 1-2 down the Railway lads pulled the fat out of the fire with two top-drawer performances and avenged the previous week's Cup defeat.
