White Hart 2, Stout House A 3
A close win here, many games could have gone either way. JT, I've got the score between Pete T & Barney as equal on 1680***, but I know Pete won so don't know what to do about that.
Anyway:
John 2440, Pete H 2410 Ricky 2730, Tony 440 Dave 1390, Sam 3930 Sparrow 3130, Tidy 3450 Barney 1680, Pete T 1680 ***
I played last & the game ended fittingly, with Barney, trying to dislodge a "stuck" ball, placing a ball down the 50 when the bar was actually down, spilling his pint trying to save the next ball, about 10 minutes hysterical conversation trying to remember what John's score was, then John winning by 30 by downing the 100. My how we laughed!
Great game from Sam, by the way, some lovely shots off the cushions, she got the pace perfectly.
And thanks for the lovely cheese pasta, very welcome!
Pete

Railway 5 Alfold SC 0 Skippy 2,250 Cliff 1,170 Close game for the first half, Cliff stopped sinking balls to allow Adam to pull ahead. Stuart 4,010 Kelly 570 Stuart finally getting the break back having threatened to on numerous occasions and putting together a good break. Mick 4,940 Malc 1,150 Malc having a really bad back, the way he hobbled in I wasn't sure if he'd soiled his underwear...get better soon mate. Sniffer 5,810 Garry 760 Steve again playing really well , not Gary's night. Boggy 3,150 Dave 1,030 Mark to strong on his home top. Does this mean Malc's the new Fin....bad back....armed with walking stick. Good night with lots of banter. Thanks to Stella for a super spread of grub.

Stout House 'Z'S 5 Springbok SC 0
Junkie 3920 B Hicks 2590 Bill started brightly putting decent score on board with Junkie unable to get the break back. Bill chipped away and had it not been for a great effort by Junkie at the death to put a 2K plus break together the result would have been different.
Denise 2980 T Goacher 1250 Jeez I was pants, even though Den tried her hardest to let me win losing 3.5k at the off. I had the chances but messed it up, Den was the worthy winner.
Rick 4940 G Marshall 1500 Young Gaz simply not firing on all cylinders and Rick took a lead that was a bridge too far for his opponent. Gaz just could not get going and had to watch as this one slipped him by.
Rich 3060 M Edwards 1490 A closer game than the result shows with Mike starting well. RP needed all his experience to get back on track to take the game for the 'Z's.
Gibbo 4640 R Burgess 3190 A bit nip and tuck at the start with both Rob and Gibbo struggling a little. Eventually Gibbo got going and though almost matched by the efforts of Rob secured the final point for his team.
Nothing wrong with the break, bottom cushion a little niggly but no complaints. Decent grub, a few laughs and we all seem to have developed peculiar tics.

Three Compasses 3 Dun Horse 2
Jason Duncton 2280 Grant Hope 1350 Richard Covey 610 Scott Hope 3020 Andy Scotcher 1480 Dave Simmons 2900 Carl Tudor 2440 Colin Bolton 1550 *Jason Duncton* 2470 Stuart Hope 1810 (Jason playing under 4-player rule.)
Game 1: Scrappy game. Grant not finding the pace, Jason accumulating with each visit. Game 2: Some nice shots from Buddy, Scott in control all the way. Game 3: Dave led from the start, Andy couldn't catch up. Game 4: A war of attrition! Carl in front most of the way, Colin caught up but Carl managed to put a break together at the end to take the game. Game 5: Close all the way. Pops ran out of time! A jubilant Jason clinched the match.
Table somewhat cruel to both teams tonight. The Dun team disappointed with the result but The Compasses more than happy!! An amusing evening nonetheless with plenty of banter, rounded off with a superb Chilli.
