Seeing my team of 'walking' wounded last Wednesday - and noting the recent absence of a few 'regulars' on this site recently - begs the following question: How many of you have had flu over Xmas? I know that Sparky was stricken in December; MrMike007, Alan Downs, Johnny Haigh and myself of the 'Zeds' have all had it on and off. Mine I thought I'd got rid off, but it keeps coming back. Pete Hall from the Hurst seemed to be in a bad way too.
Could explain the absence of the likes of Johnny, Sav & Wolfman ? I feel like dosing myself up, and am contemplating throwing a couple of 'sickies' early next week. :P :-X -cough - splutter - :P :-X

i've not had the flu but i've had a bad cold and all that goes with it for the past 3 weeks and i just can't shift it, i'm ok all thru the day but i'll wake up in the night coughing and by mid morning i'm as right as rain, hurts to swallow still and i can feel it in my ears , i'm getting really fed up with it and i'll probably end up on a trip to the doctors. There is a lot of it about >:(

No I've been OK thx. no flu here.
Been keeping a quiet eye on things but have not spent much time on here over Crimble. Have been up to my neck in other things since.

Good timing CraigC - I've always thought that Novemner is the very best month to feel ill.

Trouble is, there is some silly competition in Jersey at the same time.

Sorry for being quiet just waiting for a Bar Billiards topic to arise of interest! They are a bit scarce around here, I think everyone is doing quizes instead of talking billiards.

Good timing CraigC - I've always thought that Novemner is the very best month to feel ill. It's actually a very interesting fact. I've come back from Jersey, coughing and sneezing, for as long as I can remember, but this year no!!! I wonder how much of that is to do with the appalling ventilation at the De Normandie and this year's far superior venue at the Ommaroo?? Sav.

Good point Sav, think you may be right about the improved venue conditions, and there is the promise of further improvements to look forward to :)
Also think most people, like me, only really had a cold (maybe quite badly but still a cold) rather than Flu which can be very serious :(

Maybe it's the climate change, we will get more colds and flu in summer now ;) I had the shivers regularly last year but I think that was from seeing Sav in his shorts ;D

I had the shivers regularly last year but I think that was from seeing Sav in his shorts ;D It took me ages to recover from seeing 'THEM' once so I dread to think what it was like on a regular basis, or is it possible to get used to them ;D

As one who (until the current competition just gone) has always travelled to/from Jersey by boat, I've always put it down to the warm temperate climate at Jersey that time of year, and then upon stepping back onto the jetty at Weymouth, being hit by a cold blast of wind and rain ! :o
