So, to try to make some sense of this, this is the extract from Part 1 of 3 of the Timeline:
Presumably "16 games" means that there were 16 x 5 = 80 legs........3 legs per hour, allowing for a 5-6 minute break on each hour, it all adds up !
[edit - sorry, this was posted in a rush and my mental arithmetic was only approximate ! Of course, if I had worked it out properly each 'game' or module lasted (18 mins x 5 players =) 90 minutes or 1.5 hours. And 16 of these make up 24 hours exactly]

Not sure of your maths there Tommo
16 games x 5 players x 18 mins = 1440 mins which is bang on 24 hours - dont think they had any breaks!
The numbers are staggering above. Would love to have a go just to see how close we could get. The Albion Fishersgate has had some big scores this year, maybe get Mario and 4timeschamp involved. Not sure Jum's back would hold up though!!

LOL I said it adds up not that it multiplies up ! From past negotiations with Guinness Book from when Horsham did our own marathon in 1977, the terms and conditions are that a 5-minute break on each hour is mandatory. If the Kent boys did not keep to that, then the record is invalid ! Our own effort (documented on our website) was over 3 days and nights and included periods of ragged play (breaks lost etc) due to the rigorous demands on our bodies. I for one needed 18 hours sleep afterwards to catch up. If you're going to have a crack at the record, definitely keep to the 24 hours !

I can confirm that we didn't have any breaks between games at all. The clock was running and at the end of each 18 mins the next player was ready to play and the player finishing their game jumped into the scorers chair and had said 15 before he had sat down. After the first round of games we all got the system and it went like clockwork Les Green was the one who had been in contact with Guinness and at no point were we told we had to have a break. I guess that after playing and scoring we then had a break of 54 mins each anyway After seeing some of the scores posted on here from the Albion Fishergate I think it could be worth a go. I also think that it would be a shame if someone who currently holds the record couldn't be involved Curt

I also think that it would be a shame if someone who currently holds the record couldn't be involved Curt Don't think Les would come back from Greece especially ! (Only teasing) What about the latest "Mr 25k" Lloydy ? And the W.C. would probably be up for it as a home venue player.

That's some insane consistency! I'd have to be on steroids for that!

I would be quite happy to give it a go, I would suggest our Albion Table as it's a complete flying machine at the moment. You can get 20 just by being nice and steady., to say nothing of the 3 25k breaks there have been in the last month or so. There was room for improvement as well. I know I will certainly be eyeing 25k on it next season.
If we were to do something like this, I would strongly recommend we look to maximise the publicity of it for the benifit of our game. A simple video documentary for YouTube prehaps? I'd be happy to do that as well as play.
