It's a while since our national team was discussed - the last time, I seem to remember, we were having a go at Sven.
Will it all come good tonight against a team of part timers and sheep shearers ?
Perhaps bringing our own Shearer out of retirement would be a better option ? ;)

Yes of course we will win - 3-0 I reckon.
Whether we will qualify is a different matter.....

tommo, I'm unable to vote as your list of alternative teams is insufficient to meet my requirements ;) ;D

If they pass the ball backwards again for 89 minutes it's got to be another draw :-/

Get set for another thoroughly unconvincing performance, and a 2 - 0 win against a team of office clerks & postmen, with the first goal after an hour and the second at the death!
Elsewhere, the valiant Scots side will hold Italy for 87 minutes and lose by the odd goal; or have the cheek to score first, only to go on and lose 3 - 1
Northern Ireland to win 1 - 0 against Sweden.
What's the odds on there being two representative sides from the UK in the finals - and England not bieng one of them?
Until the English FA accept that the Pemier League is a gravy train for egotistic overseas players, and start demanding quotas, then England fans will see far better football at club level than at national level.
Right. That should do it! ;-)

I'm inclined to agree, and the scenario above has happened before, I seem to recall, with Scotland and Ireland being there but no England. I always tend to think that England play as a collection of individuals - some of them second-rate ones - and not as a team. Players are played out of their normal positions to make up a loose team structure (eg playing Rooney up front as a target man - ridiculous: play him deeper so he can be creative !) We have not played properly as a team since the Home Internationals were discontinued - at least then the players got a run out and could get used to playing alongside each other.

I agree with Honchair. 2-0.
Scotland to get a draw.
And the Welsh to beat San Marino just for a change!

Some amazing tipstering back there. It is quite possible there will be no teams from the British Isles in the finals. England now are exactly the same as under Eriksson, but without the Swede's luck - wasn't too long ago England were grinding out 2-0 wins against Lichtenstein.
At least there is Stevie G, the only positive.

With regard to the comment about the English premiership being a gravy train for egotistical overseas players I would remind you of this:
Was it not Rio Ferdinand who tried to hold Manchester Utd to ransom to get £120k per week - despite them supporting him through the whole drugs thing? Was it not Ashley Cole who, at the thought of a bigger paycheck, was easily lured to Chelsea?
Surely Englands continual failure cannot still be levelled at someone else. Please, objectivity is honesty. Honesty is real. Real is true enlightenment.
