Last night Man Utd were impressive and Chelsea managed to scrape through, whilst Liverpool should complete the job tonight. So it looks like we'll have three in the Semi-Finals.
But who is going to be lifting the trophy in Athens on May 23rd ? Cast your votes here !

Might one ask where the "Who gives a ..." option is Tommo? ;)
Spent last night watching the Windies make a total rickets of playing one-day cricket, while exchanging banter with my sister, who runs a family of Man U fans. I am a non-league footy fan by trade, so not overly fussed! :D
If pressed, I would have to say that I hope it's Liverpool; simply because they are neither of the other two ;)

I am wholeheartedly with the sentiment of your last two sentences Honchair.
As a non-league fan (anticipating a return to the big time in my own lifetime) I too would rather it was Liverpool mainly because wifey supports them. But whilst (like you) not being overly fussed, I'd be pleased for Fergie too if it was Man Yoo, especially as he has been brave enough to stick with his contingent of home-grown players.

My concern, as echoed by my boss (a season book holder at OT who was there last night), is that IF MU and Liverpool make the final, which is a real possibility, there will be carnage in Athens.
It takes the vast majority of GMP to police a fixture at OT against Liverpool in the league and vice versa for the game at Anfield.
Can you imagine 100k+ drunken Scousers and Mancs in 40 degree heat, pished and violent? There is no police force to deal with it so it would be the Army.
I fancy a few water cannons and some tear gas may be in order. Oh, and a few rubber bullets for good measure!!
This would be the worst thing for British Football as, the only British club that does not get itself into any trouble abroad (the mighty Celts), will yet again be tarnished by the reputation of Rangers and the other English clubs!!!
How cheerful am i today?!!!

Tangent time Tommo. If the Wombles come up into Blue Square South; and my lot fail to get to the Blue Square Premier through the playoffs; we'll have the pleasure of a home and away with a bigger ball next term! Havant and Waterlooville awaits you!

I did have an inkling - every H & W fan I've met so far have been quite fanatical about their football.
Having had 15 of our 18 points deduction given back and banged in a 9-0 little more than a week ago, we're now making a bit of a pig's ear for playoff qualification: We now have a striker injury crisis. Tony Kempster's prediction site shows Billericay and Chelmsford as likely to go up instead of us. :'(
So next season you may be facing two extra journeys into the heathen wilds of Essex. ;D
Looking forward to a trip to Folkestone this Sat. nonetheless....
Btw, judging by your blog you West Sussex guys also seem to enjoy your bar billiards. :o :o :o

We should really change the league name to something like The West Sussex "Game for a Laugh" BB League.
Jsut you wait until this seasons presentation night pictures get a public airing! :D

Yawn!
I'll be happy with three points at Farnborough tomorrow :)

Likewise, but for Farnboro read Folkestone Invicta. ;)
Margo and I are making an early start tomorrow so we can make a day of it. Catch a spot of lunch before the match and hopefully take in a few rays of sunshine.
Good luck to H & W.

What a late call ! Liverpool score what should have been the winner 10mins into xtra time, ruled offside........... :(
4-1 on pens, and plenty of penalty takers in reserve (Fowler, Bellamy, Riise etc). A stroll in the park really. ;) ;D

Havant and Waterlooville awaits you! From what I can make out we lost (0-1). Charlie Macdonald the little ba$tard (formerly of Crawley Town) the scorer. We'll just have to try and set another record (like going through unbeaten again) next season. Has put our plan to regain league status by 2011 back by a year, though. Hope H & W have better luck against Tree Brain tomorrow night. ;)

Dirk Kuyt's goal should have stood, but can't blame the lino, he only had a split second and must have looked offside to him. Easy for TV cameras. Best team won, whatever Maureen thinks.

I agree - I watched a different game to Jose - I thought, over the piece, Liverpool were the better team.

Who said that Chelsea don't get penalties! They got four last night and only scored from one of them!

Hope Liverpool do it - but I doubt they will. They just do not seem to have the depth all of the park to cope with Milan.

Liverpool are stronger than 2 years ago. If not for another terrible start to the season, they would have been challenging for the Premier too. Unlike AC Milan, who are a street behind city rivals Inter. Should be a very close final, no team will go 3-0 up in the first half this time, so no massive comeback.

Hope H & W have better luck against Tree Brain tomorrow night. ;) Unlucky Havant & Waterlooville - also Kettering Town. Along with AFC, that makes a trio of us who have fallen at the playoffs stage. Let's just hope that we can all be dominant next year, avoid the playoffs and sail through as champions. ;) ;D
