Suffolk and Norfolk paid their affiliation fees last year and have not been excluded at last year's AGM. Provided they have paid their affiliation this year they should at least have the courtesy of an invite. I cannot check AEBBA finances as my PC is away being upgraded. Pretty sure after speaking to Daveuk1 that Suffolk are fully affiliated. They have even staged a National event for the last two years. Waiting for an AEBBA response sometimes takes time, so let's extend the courtesy now, and advise them thus: Affiliation to AEBBA entitles a county to take part in the National competitions staged in Didcot, Oxfordshire this autumn. (all 3-Pin, unfortunately !) If you wished you could send along your mens County champion to play on Sept 27; your ladies County champion to play on Sept 20; a 7-a-side representative side in the Mens County Championships (Div 2) on November 15th; and the League Championship team (5-a-side) to represent the county in the National Team Championships on October 18th. The remaining autumnal All-England events (“Triangles”; Special Ladies; Over 50’s; Over 60’s; and Under-25s) are also available to take part in. Also of interest is that on October 25th there is a National Off-the-Spot Open (Singles) closer to home, at Salfords Club, halfway between Redhill and Horley (quite near to Gatwick). Kent staged it last year but it's Surrey's turn this year. People enter this as it provides a useful opportunity for some practice for the World Championships in Jersey in November which are also played "Off-the-Spot". If nothing else, I'm sure you'd enjoy the National Team event which offers the chance to become the champion team of England: Suffolk have actually taken part in this before, back in 1980/81 when the then-Newmarket League sent a side.

Suffolk paid their 2015 affiliation on 25th march 2015 and are thus fully affiliated and entitled to enter the full tranche of AEBBA competitions.
Norfolk have not paid. Suffolk paid theirs last year.
Cambridge are suspended.
Unless Berkshire have paid their affiliation since I last brought the accounts up to date in Mid July they will not be entitled to enter.

Perhaps DaveUK or another Suffolk member would like to advise if Suffolk do wish to enter a team?

I will pass on the info to the Sudbury league but have a feeling I know what the response will be, infact I'll go as far as to say if the current champs entered I will eat my dirty socks
Although I am vice chair of the Suffolk BBA I dont have any involvement in the Sudbury league apart from playing. I have organised some things myself with the bay horse which have proved successful but fear getting any other pub team interested would be a massive challenge

Well if Saracens as champs didn't want to enter, the entitlement would go to runners up Hadleigh Cock, especially as they were Team Cup winners. The National County (Div 2) might be the better one to go for, as you could pick a Suffolk representative side with primarily Bay Horse players.

First the good news.... Hampshire will have a team there next weekend, sadly I didn't ask Barry Radford what team it was though! Next the bad news.... Tunbridge Wells have had to withdraw as they have several players not available so there is currently no team from Kent at the moment. I also forgot to ask the Northants boys who were at the Alternative Rules today if Rushden Cons will be there next weekend or if another team will be representing them?

I also forgot to ask the Northants boys who were at the Alternative Rules today if Rushden Cons will be there next weekend or if another team will be representing them? I will ask again but it seems unlikely, I will also send out an email to see if any other team would be interested to take their place. Unfortunately we do struggle to get a team to come down and now that we can't use guest players from our own league it does prove very difficult. Will do my best

Unfortunately we are not able to get a team to attend this event. Thanks for trying, hopefully the rule that prevented you using a reserve (and therefore possibly having a team) this year will be changed before next year.

To the teams going on Sunday re format
I have discussed with Dave and it would seem sensible to go with the same format we used for the ladies county ie 5 teams of 5 (round robin) and 2 groups of 4 for the ladies.
This means that the team champ matches will be double games - point per leg.
So a 7pm finish but you all get 8 games.
Good luck to everyone tomorrow.

Congratulations to Didcot Conservative Club on their victory yeterday with Caversham WMC finishing as runners-up on a very good day. Albion Fishersgate finished 3rd with Langstone Harbour Fishing Club and RAFA Club in the final two positions. Bernie McCluskey hit the highest break of the day (about 15.5k) with plenty of other good breaks recorded. Many thanks to Dave & Terry Alder for running the event, to the people who set up the tables and those that helped to take them down at the end of the competition as well as the Didcot Club for hosting the event for us.
