My landline has been down for two weeks with multiple faults on the antiquated aluminium cable. BT service has been a joke with four different engineers arriving on Thursday and Friday after I chased things, wrong sort of engineer, right sort of engineer - wrong sort of equipment, lack of traffic lights to protect a man-hole cover. I've also been bombarded with texts telling me the fault was on my property and chargeable.
My PC, away since August 20th for a planned service and upgrade, was not ready when I returned from 2½ weeks marshalling at the Manx Festival of Motorcycling. I hope things will return to normality early next week.
I have no access to emails until then as I did not set up alternates.

My phone will be out of action for another week as traffic lights cannot be booked until next Saturday. My landline is now diverted to my antiquated PAYG mobile, so don't expect calls fro me!
What a farce
At least I am now back on line with an almost fully functional PC.
