I'm presently investigating the best way to get old VHS tapes onto my PC and came across some poor quality video of the 1998 BIOC final that Milko won, he had hair then!
Just scratching the surface so far!

Sav, please let us know if you manage it because I would like to get my recording on the " Record Breakers" programme that I did in the 80's put on my computer. Milko

Hi Keith,
Yes I have a method to do the conversion and have tried some with reasonable results.
I am currently hunting for a second hand pro VHS edit deck with noise suppression as the VHS recorder is the limiting factor in the conversion. Unfortunately they are no longer made!
All the available formats on the PC far exceed VHS or even S-VHS in the quality that can be thrown at them. Mine is a decent S-VHS recorder but I believe I can squeeze a bit better quality yet.

Just been looking at this again and found some very poor quality video of the 1998 World Spoons title defence by Dicko against Paul Sainsbury, Dicko sporting the trophy!
Still laughing now!
Waiting for some better gear to arrive to see if I can squeeze any more quality before I start hitting YouTube with it
