I have been informed that due to a lack of players the Wanderers have decided to withdraw from the League they have struggled to get 5 regular players and don't want to mess people around.
This is unfortunate and a shame, it will mean that all matches played against the Wanderers will be removed along with the player scores. Also we cannot change the fixture list so from now on when team 1 appears it will be a bye.
I'm sorry for this and if you have any questions then please let me know.
I will re issue an updated League table and player list asap.

Certainly shakes the league tables up.....unfortunate too for Ros whose 3780 break was made against the Wanderers.

Sad to see The Wanderers go - and not just for the 7 points we and Hassocks B lose - but I quite understand their reasons, explained by Adrian in his email. With the loss of Jan and Malcolm from their team I guess they were always going to struggle. I for one will miss our matches with them. We have always enjoyed playing against Nigel, Adie et al, and I hope they can return with a new team next year.
I think the saddest thing is seeing the number of teams competing in the league decreasing from 16 just a few years ago to 12 this season.

Just a thought: I heard last week that a number of Horsham-based players are considering a season of MSBB next year. Such an attitude is to be encouraged, hope it takes off. Home venue will probably be somewhere in Roffey, fairly easy run.

Although as such not defined in their rules, Horsham is traditionally quite a distance beyond the usually accepted boundaries of the Mid Sussex League. As per map shown on this link: www.mid-sussexbbl.co.uk/page3.htmlVenues on the periphery of both leagues (eg Bolney) have however in the past been able to participate in both leagues, so you would have to seek clarification from their committee.
