Hi Chris
I personally love both :) Do AEBBA get a cut from the Race Night? If so, think you would raise more if it was on the Friday night as a lot of people watch the England v Jersey match on the Saturday night, so are not in the hall betting - just a thought :)

Hi Chris Think it was the quiz on the Friday and Race night on the Saturday , maybe you would get more for the race night on the Friday with the International on Saturday. We always enjoy the entertainment and will be there both evenings whatever is decided Kev & Bella

Hi Chris
When we were there 2 years ago Instead of going to the quiz or race night (sorry can't remember which is was), Alan and I went to watch the international. We were amazed at the lack of supporters and people watching so much so that we both ended up scoring most of the rounds to help them out. Perhaps there shouldn't be entertainment going on whilst the international is being played?

My feeling is that the international is an add-on and should stand on its own.
The family weekend is for the pairs and the international should not detract from that by removing entertainment on the night of the international.
Just my thoughts as a previous organiser.

Just my thoughts as a previous organiser. I would agree entirely with this, the social aspect of the weekend is a big attraction for many of the players that attend Bournemouth and the international should certainly not mean that the entertainment is cancelled for that night.... although by having more people watching and supporting the international teams would certainly make a great atmosphere for the players involved. Since the usual format for the England v Jersey matches is usually just singles (rather than the Pairs & Singles format used in matches against Guernsey) the international will probably take less time this year than it did last year. Possibly the quiz or race night could therefore be started slighly later on the Saturday night this year to enable people to both watch the international if they wish and then still have the social event afterwards and that would mean that the players involved could also do both? Just a thought for this year....

I don't care but there are a high percentage of people who are not interested in the "international" so I would hate to see everything centred around that. We are already eating too early.... Tony

Sorry Tony - it is 6.30 to 8.30 Friday and 6.00 to 8.00 Saturday for meals I have adjusted times re events in the evening to start, hope this helps. I do though agree that this is a family weekend and so will ensure events for those that want them.
My proposal is Race Night Friday at 9.00pm (you beat them all Dawn !!!!) Quiz at 8.45pm Saturday with the Disco following.
Many thanks for replies. Chris

All sounds good to me Chris. Anyway, I have a new scheme/system this year Mr Willis ;)
Thank you so much Chris - and Dave - for organising all of this, I only do a little old one day Open and I know how much hard work goes into that, so I applaud you both (and everyone else who helps organise this fantastic weekend).
Dawn x

Karaoke now follows the Race Night - so expect to see Mr Willis singing or would that be 'Wailing' after he loses to Dawn at the Races
