Just curious as to why when there are two byes every week which means two teams have no game that these two teams dont arrange a friendly.Just a thought and it would be better than no game surely. As I said just thought.

This would be because a team pulled out halfway through the season

Maybe a nice occasional cosy evening in front of the telly has more appeal, especially on these chilly winter nights.

I agree with tommo as there have been evening's when I would rather stay in and watch the telly but all the team captain has to do is check to see when their byes are and see what other team has a bye that same night and contact them to see if they are interested in playing a match provided the rest of his team are happy to play. They might like to and they might not but no harm in asking. It is ok for the players who play two or three nights a week as they would probably appreciate a night off but the others of us who play just play once a week/fortnight might like a game. This is just my opinion.

The idea of organising friendlies in the Bye week has been done before, we had several with Ros and her team back in the days when we played for Handcross Social Club. Also, nothing to stop you having a team practice night in the spare week, especially now The Wanderers have flown the coop.

All good: six B's and four A's turned up, so one of us got a temporary "promotion". Several supporters too. Full round of games with plenty of BB-related chat and banter (esp. during "friendly" doubles). Excellent spread of catering included the all-important B.B.
