Hi Everybody
Once again I have to do a report because the Mighty A Team have been Mighty once again at Roffey Club
Barney 3,780 Craig 4,460
Despite losing his opening break, Craig took early control with a 2k break, after that he added scores at regular intervals. Barney got the break back but the clock run out
Dave 4,590 James 2,880
James opened with a 1.8k break but Dave topped that with 3.7k. After that despite out scoring Dave, James was unable to get the break back. Dave played the rest of the game at the top of the table scoring what he could
Sparrow 2,450 Yours Truly 4,500
Sparrow missed his opening break, I stated with a 3k break, After that despite both players getting the break back no other substantial scores were made. After problems with balls behind the ten hole, Sparrow got the break back but as with Barney the clock run out
John T 4,230 Chelsea 4,320
The best game of the night with both players taking the lead. With a few minutes left John was 1k behind but got the break back. As the bar dropped he missed his shot leaving Chelsea requiring over 600 points with all the balls available. Despite the red ball disappearing early, a few good 100 shots left Chelsea requiring the 200 to win. He took the shot carefully but the ball remained on the rim of the pocket defying the laws of gravity. For what seemed ages everybody watched this ball, John smiled because he thought that he would have a chance. Then just as Chelsea was going to leave the table, muttering to himself, the law of gravity finally succeeded and the ball disappeared much to the delight of the A Team
Neil 7,150 Tony 1,650
After the opening break Tony had a slight advantage, but Neil soon took control with a 4k break
Many thanks to Roffey Club for the sandwiches

Roffey SSC v The Railway
Same result as last week but a different team happy at the end of the evening. The Railway recorded a 3-2 win but while last Wednesday it wasn't enough for us to win the league, this time it was enough to take us to the Final of the Team Cup.
Chances for most on the night but when it mattered most Sniffer showed his class to open with a solid match winning break.
Roffey SSC 2 The Railway 3
Moose 2380 Stu 8010 Twiggy 5700 Boggy 3940 Foxy 4710 Sammy 2300 Pops 2150 Skippy 5190 Fish 2000 Sniffer 7860
Great night again with Roffey; and Skippy (who said he was going to behave) lasting all of about 11 minutes before beginning his sledging.
Lovely sandwiches to end.
Edit: Due to an oversight I have forgotten to mention the equally important fourth game and Skippy's break which was as good, if not better, than Sniffer's effort in the last. He is right to point out that when losing 2-1 the fourth "is more/equally as important" as the last. This oversight was in part caused by myself falling asleep during his break such was the length of time he was at the table; we are going to get Opta to do a new stat for us called 'Balls in motion time' and maybe introduce injury-time at the end. When adding this edit I should also add that he put them down four-times when ignoring Jim's instructions to leave one-up... still wouldn't have top scored!

The Mill 3, Southwater SC 2 (at the Springbok Club) Johnny 2220, Ray 1660 (Johnny got a thousand ahead at the midway stage, try as he might Ray was unable to make up the deficit) 1-0 Mick 1360, Franksey 3350 (neither looked settled to begin with but Tony the first to read the table and make 'em count) 1-1 Vicky 2720, Melvyn 3920 (good game this, Mel won with some steady play after Vicky unluckily pegged a useful break) 1-2 Barry 5120, Noggs BP (Baz's best game of the season, he must have been saving this one up !) 2-2 .......and so to the battle of the captains for a decider. Alan 5630, Tony T 1810 (Tony left 'em short and Alan was in like a ferret up a drainpipe. One "brown trouser" moment towards the end nearly handed it to Tony, ball came shooting back to the 200 hole and rocked the peg before spinning and dropping, almost in slow motion.) 3-2 Hey-ho another surprise, and I suppose what this game is all about. Thanks to Springbok Club for their hospitality, some great sarnies provided (corned beef & mustard; egg; and mature cheddar with pickle).
