I would of thought you would also do well in the Alternative Rules, it would be good practice for the Spoons

25 is age in real years, not dog years.
But you will have to ask the tournament director for a ruling!
If it was IQ, you may stand a chance ;D :-* ;)
Actually me and you would make a good Mixed Pair?!?
It looks as if I may have lost my previously arranged partner, as she has a great future in front of her, and lots more.

You wouldn't like the Alternative Rules, Johnny, as you have in the past spoken out against the Jersey Off-the-Spot game.
Basically, the game starts with the balls set with a triangle between the 100 and 10 holes and you play onto that as the break shot instead of as per normal. Likewise, should the table be cleared, it reverts back to that position - not such an advantage ! You'll see more games won with 1000 than with 10,000 with this variation. It does call for a separate repertoire of skills, though and can improve the all round game as regards angles; having to play off the side cush; and employing 'side'.

I am not into the spoons idea as I don't know anything about it, plus where it is held or when it's played!
I would love it if someone gave me the full set of rules for the alternative rules game, I could myself give it a go!

Pete,
thanks for the invitation - to be honest, I have never considered you to be a wee lassie, but as long as you are comfortable with that, I'll play!

yesterday saw the annual world conker championships down the road from where i live, i've never been along to it, but yesterday they had reporters there from sky, they had the guy on live reporting, if a thing like that can get that much coverage what's the chance of getting sky along to one of ours :)

Some will know that when I was reporting in the Pot Black magazine a few years ago, I was approached by Channel 4 to visit the Big Breakfast about the forthcoming Jersey competition. Although I was very dubious about the p being taken out of me by Johnny Vaughan, the invite was for the Friday morning and I was flying out an hour after the interview time. They actually offered to helicopter me to Heathrow, but I did not fancy that at all, nor did Peggy. I did not know about this until the Tues or Wed and phoned round other likely suspects, inc Eric, Ken and KT but none could take up the offer for some reason. If the Forum had been around then, we could OF sent Johnny to be interviewed by his namesake. He may even OF got a game of Spoons live on TV. PS Now, if only it had been Denise Van Outen.........
