On behalf of A.E.B.B.A, Sussex County Bar Billiards are pleased to advise that the BRITISH ISLES LADIES SINGLES will be played on Sunday, 24th July 2016 at Hurstpierpoint Ex-Service Men’s & Social Club, Court Bushes, Willow Way, Hurstpierpoint, Hassocks, West Sussex, BN6 9TH

10.30am for 11.00am start

Entrance £10 per person

Main and Plate Competition

All group games will be single legs, even break (not equal time) with first named player breaking first.
Top 2 players in each group progress to quarter-final of Main Competition.
Players in positions 3 and 4 in each group progress to quarter-final of Plate Competition.
Group positions will be based on the following:-
1) Most games won.
2) If players are level, the Highest Average score will determine position..
3) If players are still level, the head-to-head result between the players will determine position.
All matches will be played under normal AEBBA Playing Rules.

Congratulations to Pauline Withey on winning the British Ladies Singles title at Hurst Club today, beating Michelle Baden in a very good final. Pauline also won the High Break Award with 7,330 in her third group game of the day which was much needed at that stage as she had lost her first 2 games of the day after leaving her cue at a venue in a recent Oxford match!

Pauline managed to just pip Denise Wills to second place in Group C (the group of death) by just 430 points after both players had won 2 games with Lorraine Hall winning all 4 of her matches. Denise gained some consolation in going on to win the Plate Competition beating Sandra Hall (also from Group C) in the final with Genette Nicholls only losing out to Sandra by 190 points for the final plate position - it was one of those groups!

Michelle had won all 4 of her games to win Group A while defending champion Jean Brackenridge was also unbeaten in Group B with Mel Standbridge topping Group D with 3 wins on aggregate above Sheila King.

As always, my thanks goes to the Hurst Club for hosting the event, Colin Robbins for his usual excellent selection of food and Dave Alder for supplying the tables with Kevin Hall, Jean & Alan Brackenridge and Tony Jenner helping to set them up and the team of people (Kev Hall, Lorraine Hall, Matthew Knight, Ros Appleby and others) who helped to take them down at the end of the day to give Dave a speedy turn round for his journey back to Reading.

Thanks also to Matthew, Kevin and Rob Hall who scored a lot of games during the course of a very enjoyable day.

One final very BIG THANK YOU to JEAN BRACKENRIDGE who sold the raffle tickets and raised £93 today, absolutely brilliant considering that there were only 20 entries on the day so a big thank you also to the players and supporters that bought the tickets!
