Please let us hear that no-one was hurt, least of all any bar billiards players, on the multi-car pile-up on the M3 on the way back from Bournemouth. It delayed my return by about 75 minutes on Sunday but it did seem that a lot of cars must have been involved.
It was extra annoying for me as I had intended staying an extra night and had paid the £47 for it, (well £40 cash plus the £7 Eric had promised for my sponsorship). Eric then informed me that the kitchen was not going to be open with only a handful of guests. They would send out for a snack for me. I declined and asked for a partial refund so that I could get a meal out. I was offered £7, not much considering the cost of the meal. I said I would take the full refund and check out. I would have liked a relaxing night at this hotel when the best china, cutlery and glasses all see the light of day for the first time since Thursday.
Eric eventually gave me £40 back and, when challenged, said that he thought he would get away with the £7. He didn't!
