KT won the All England for a record 6th time and he is the first ever to retain the trophy. He beat Geoff Jukes in the final. After breaking down early KT led by 9k into the interval, Geoff broke down on 4k, Kt eventually retreived the break to setup the win.
Results of the Groups
Group 1 P W L Score Ave Pts Legs Won 1 Kevin Tunstall Oxon 4 3 1 84,440 10,555 6 7 2 Barry Radford Hants 4 3 1 54,230 6,779 6 3 3 Nigel Senior Sussex 4 2 2 33,330 5,555 4 5 4 Chris Saville Kent 4 2 2 24,850 3,106 4 4 5 Bernie McCluskey Berks 4 0 4 15,650 3,913 0 1
Barry Radford will be rueing his chances when after running the table out against me in game 1, beating Bernie from 10k down and then beating KT with another runout, he need to beat Sav for a place in the final. Sav however had other ideas and did KT a favour by beating Barry and KT went to the final on aggregate score. Both myself and Sav finished thrid and fourth with the help of walkover wins against Bernie McCluskey, who, inexplicably disappeared after his second match.
Group 2 P W L Score Ave Pts Legs Won 1 Geoff Jukes Surrey 3 2 1 50,510 8,418 4 5 2 Simon Coleman Northants 3 2 1 40,120 6,687 4 3 3 John Burrows Bucks 3 2 1 26,370 4,395 4 3 4 Keith Mac Donald Cambs 3 0 3 24,010 4,002 0 1
John Burrows looked in control of this group with 2 opening wins and taken the big win against Geoff. However Simon Coleman had a slim chance needing to beat John and score big to progress. He did so, knocking John out of the competition but Geoff also scored big beating Keith MacDonald and did enough to make the final. The top three tied on wins but Geoff's aggregate to put him through
Well Done KT on the win - he is going to be tough to stop in Jersey methinks.....

Sounds like a great competition, Jukesey flying the flag well for Surrey. Well done to KT in winning through yet again against stiff opposition.

Thanks Nige & Tommo, i`m so chuffed at retaining that beautiful trophy. I can see why knowone has won it in consecutive years before. I`ve had chances, tony Walsh also, and many more i should think. I`ve won quite alot this year but this is the icing on the cake. It`s so tough winning the County singles in Oxford, now i`ve got to do it in Sussex if i want to go for the hat-trick! Hard luck to Barry & Geoff. It did look as though i was out of it after Barry took both legs off me but Sav came to my rescue. The Final table (2) did catch firstly me then Geoff out, very pacy & whippy, but i got there in the end. A good set of tables, well done to the setter uppers.
Bring on Jersey ;) :)
