Mid Sussex AGM

This years AGM will be held on Wednesday 6th July at The Hassocks Hotel 8.30 pm.

It would be nice to see at least 1 person from each team attending, I believe there are a few rule change proposals submitted.

A clash now with the Portugal v Wales (= as good as we were bad) match.

Not the League's fault (who would have thought a British team could make it to a Euro semi-final ??) - but will anyone turn up ?

Well I'm British, and a member of Her Maj's United Kingdom, so would have liked to have seen the match - but hey ! bar billiards comes first.

It's been moved back again to 8.30 !!!

05 July 2016 ***STOP PRESS*** START TIME CHANGED BACK !
I was contacted a couple of times yesterday regarding the time of the AGM:
The reason it was called for 8.30 was so that more League members can attend.
So: THE START TIME HAS REVERTED BACK TO 8.30 pm Wednesday

07 July 2016 "R.T.P. and Terry the Gas honoured"
At the MSBBL's AGM on Wed 6th July at The Hassocks, the League honoured two former luminaries with Life Vice-Presidencies:
Tim Peacock, a former President of the League, and Terry Gasson, a former Secretary/Treasurer, Chairman and Vice President.
Both were influential in running the League during the 1980s. The two current Vice-Presidents, Lorraine Hall and John Lear, also received life appointments.
Following the sad death last October of Roy Wells, a shuffle of committee posts had been necessary as Roy had held three: Lorraine Hall is confirmed as Treasurer as well as Competitions Secretary, Ian Giffen is confirmed as Fixtures Secretary and Jan Smith takes over as General Secretary from Jenny Edwards who had filled the role temporarily. Jenny retains a place on the Committee along with Darren Newnham and Rob Hall, with Pete Edwards moving up to Deputy Chairman. Derek Taylor was re-elected as Chairman and Andy Farmer-Wright continues as President.
One new team had applied to join the league and were welcomed, and slight tweaks to Competition Rules 6,7,12 and 14 were voted through. The new season will also see the re-introduction of the Charity Cup, named in Roy’s honour. – Clive T
