It is indeed what it is called, but there are no "divisions". Each county send their KO champions. They are drawn randomly into two groups, (probably 5 and 4) and the winning team from each group play off for the title.

Rather bizarrely, no KT or Milko in this year's competition. Oxon still strong though.

Can anybody tell me if all the players have to be registered for the pub playing or can there be one guest player from another team? ;D

Can anybody tell me if all the players have to be registered for the pub playing or can there be one guest player from another team? ;D As far as the FORMER TD is concerned, the players should have been registered to play in the competition before August 1st, but that rule seems to have been consistently flouted. Players that were NOT registered to play for another team in the qualifying competition have been allowed to play in the past (apparently). So I believe you can bring in a NEW player from the same county, but you cannot bring in an established player from another team. So, basically, I am not available.

PS Not quite within the county boundary, but you might just get away with it. Better approach Dave or Nigel for confirmation!

I don't really have a problem with you Pete, the only problem is I don't like it when you have slagged off Northants and it's players. I have tried to stay out of all this 'crap' that went on as I was playing in Portsmouth at the time so I think let's all forget about what went on and let's all try and get on. Yes my comment of bye was sarcastic but so what and from Mr sarcastic himself I thought that you could handle a bit back. Rant over and again, thanks for the info on the team ko.

Oh I can handle anything, but I do not ever remember "slagging off" Northants. I helped to "make" Northants, after all, so why would I slag it off. I'd better put the rest of my reply in a personal message when I have time......

Who are representing Northants in this Sunday's competition ?
Surrey will be represented by last year's (beaten) finalists, South Park Constitutional Club. (D.C. and co.)

As Cambs we need to stand up and be known for our great talent. Believe me, go there and have belief with yourselves, that you can do this!

Just to clarify Pete's reply on NBBA Pub Teams.
Technically;
The players must have been registered for the entered pub at the start of this year. (pubs with more than one team can combine them).
A pub is allowed one guest player who should have been on the original entry sheet submitted to their county secretary, who should, in turn, have submitted it to Dave Barnes by August 1st.
Whether that guest player can be from another county seems a little ambiguous as a player can only represent one county in any one year in the intercounties and AEBBA individuals.
Sav.

(Apologies to all in advance for going off-topic.)
Johnny, It must be a special weekend for people getting tetchy on forums.
After being a member of the R/X8 Owners Club Forum for 2 years, I have just spat my own dummy out of the pram over someone being patronising towards me.
12 months ago we had a day at the ProDrive complex (where they test rally cars) in Warwick and we had to sit in the back of each other's cars while we went round the fast circuit at speeds of over the ton. It was my misfortune to be paired with this same guy, and when I drove I changed down at all the right times before corners but when it was his go he was taking the corners far too fast and sliding the car sideways. I was in constant fear that he was going to roll the vehicle and when I got out I was nearly sick.
And now HE has the nerve to tell ME how to drive !
It's a great shame because I've met a lot of good people through the site, but you have to put a stop to it when it stops being a pleasurable experience.
I hope your latest spat hasn't put you off in the same way. In my case, I sense I'm getting a bit tetchy in my old age. ::)

Congratulations to the Horse & Harrow from Oxon. I`ve just spoken to Gary Johnson and he informed me of the result. The final was between them and the Brewery Tap from Brighton and it all went down to the last game between Gareth Lloyd & Phil Collins with Phil coming out on top. I should imagine Nigel will fill us in on the full details later.
