Gentlemen,
Hope I'm posting this in the right place!
I have been a member of a private members club here in the North East for some years now. We were fortunate to procure a bar billiards table around about two years ago which often gets used after dinners, members drinks evenings and sometimes during the day. There have been some attempts to start a league within the club but thus far none have been successful. We do have a monthly bridge night which is popular and we are now looking to have a games evening which would include bar billiards. I have been elected to coordinate the league and bar billiards side of the evening.
Would any members be able to advise me as to how they have gone about starting a league and running it with a view to awarding a fair and true winner a trophy at the end of the year.
A couple of points - there will be one evening a month focusing on bar billiards to include both games for fun and league games, there are a number of members (10 -15) interested in playing (but not all may be able to make the monthly meeting), the table is accessible to members at most times of the working week (and some evenings). Not sure whether the above will help or hinder the running of a successful league?!
Any advice greatly appreciated!
