Thought this might amuse people.
I put up new brass lanterns outside the house last autumn, all done very carefully and sealed against the wall, just leaving a tiny gap at the bottom to allow the inside to breath.
I have individual earth leakage trips controlling various circuits rather than one trip on the lot and am glad I have. The trip controlling the ring with one of the outside lights has been tripping occasionally and I was a bit baffled. Couple of days ago it got worse and would not stay set. I isolated it to the outside light and went to have a look.
When I took the sensor off the wall I found the inside was absolutely stuffed full of ladybirds! there were hundreds of them! I wish I had taken a picture!
I carefully ejected all of the tenants, amazingly none of them seemed to be cooked, put the sensor back and all is well now! (with an even smaller vent hole).
Life is strange.
