Well done to Pauline Withey who won the Special Ladies Open for the 4th time in only 7 attempts.
It was a repeat of the 2002 final in which Pauline played Janet Burns of Berkshire. Unfortunately for Janet, despite a small lead of 200 going into leg 2 Pauline ran out the winner 9,010 - 6,590
Former 2 time Special Ladies champ Jane Wood defeated Jenny Abbott in the plate final 10,560 - 5,770
Unfortunately only 11 ladies turned up for the competition which unless can be improved upon must put the future of this tournament into some jeopardy.

Quite agree!
Only Oxon, Berks and Bucks sent entries.
Poor show.
Is it apathy?
What is the point of having a Ladies Grand Prix for eight invited ladies, if we can only get 3 more than that for an Open.
But well done Pauline who can only beat those who enter! She is now well clear again in the Ladies Rankings and has also gone one better than Kevin who recently won three on the trot. Pauline has now won BOTH ladies opens this year to add to those she won last year.
I believe, if my maths is correct (Clive will check), that she has now won FOUR.
