Hassocks B 4-1 St Francis
Jenny 3390-1390 Roger Dilly 9390-1320 Neil Dom BP-1960 Chris Chris 2440-900 Bob Barry 3030-2480 Matt
Jenny playing well in first. Dilly dominating the second, but losing a late break which would of given him the 10k. Scrappy between Dom, who couldn't pot , and the saints stand in skipper, who potted plenty but ended every break with a peg. An away win the correct out come. The Hassocks landlord sealed the win , and the home captain scraped home in the last after regaining the break and missing both balls on his own table.
A welcome second win of the season for the B's , who have suffered plenty of 3-2 defeats but have failed to win by that score all season.

The question is. do I owe you a drink on Finals Night ? Well I decided to do what was only fair and 9k and touch opener to seal another win for the hassocks meaning plough slip to fourth I'm guessing

Well the HHUSC A took it to the wire.........
SilverFox 5530, Ben Procter 3270 SuperG 6220, Awesome Richard 6850 (One break each, Richard checking his watch and timing it to perfection) Johnny 0, Trevor Rees 5110 (TIR unluckily pegging a useful break on his second visit, Johnny so surprised that he missed the break with both balls!) ......and so at 1-2 we were drinking at the last chance saloon......

..tommo 10740, Andy Guy 880 (have played crap all through the second half but on this occasion got my mojo back and opened with 8.7k and touch - sorry, Andy) 2-all, game on for the battle of the Micks ! Our Mick 3890, Their Mick 3430 - decided after the bar, yes it was that close. Windmill, Crawley 3 HHUSC A 2. Thanks to our intrepid opponents who were very sporting in defeat. It's been up and down but we've enjoyed our first season back. And congratulations to League Champions Hassocks A, what lovely people !

My plan to have him drawn against the break and have to sit down for 18 minutes nearly paid off last night: his hands were shaking after playing Graham !

It certainly was a tough game last night. It is 39 in a row , 2 seasons of league matches which I am really chuffed about, and last night was the hardest of them all, just a shame we could not get the team win and secure 2nd place , a great match at the Windmill, Tommo well played to your team last night.

First game was down to the last ball - second week in a row Trevor has won like that. Nice 5.5k break from Neil, followed up by another of 3.5k. Great 8k opener from Terry, followed up by another 5k. Fantastic (although desperately unhealthy!) chip shop sausages in batter with a generous quantity of chips. Good evening with the Watermill.

Well that was an eventful last week of the season who would have thought so much would have depended on it. The top 4 played each other, The defending champions had it sorted last week and played The Plough who were in the mix for runners up, but a 3-2 win for Hassocks A put paid to that. Windmill Crawley & HHUSC A met up and it went down to the last leg before it was decided. Windmill won the match but doing so snatched the runners up place from USC A by just the half point.
Division One was just as tense, Three teams have done battle all season HHUSC B CKRBL & Watermill. It came down to the last week where by pure luck or fate USC B & CKRBL played each other, the B's gap having been reduced to just 2 points last week meaning it was all to play for. The draw went well for the B's and a 4-1 win gave them the top place and CKRBL runner up over The watermill.
It's been a good season all round and thanks to all the Captains for getting the results to me in good time.

HHUSC B 4 CKRBL 1
John Lear 2570 Peter Harris 2280 Darrell Skinner 3570 Paul Moyes Robb 1800 Steve King 2580 Neil Burchell 1130 Paul Jobbins 4100 Ted Stringer 1790 Iang 1170 Andy Farmer wright 3150
A good night with Ted & co it wasn't plain sailing Peter Played really well and pushed John all the way, Neil was unlucky to lose a good break going up the table and Ted kept finding the pegs. Andy & I both had trouble with a ball directly in front of the 10 hole but Andy settled down for the win.
Bad luck to CKRBL but well done on the runner up spot.

The Return of the Battle of the Cocks ended 3-2 in favour of the home side.
Jim McClenn 350, The Lodger 2580 (Jim showed stiff opposition but a black peg caused him to ejaculate loudly and he couldn't recover). Jan Smith 1170, Tufty "Todger" Croft 2270 (Tufty just managed to keep his end up in a close tussle). Huw Lincoln 1960, Kevin Stevens 1790 (Kevin could have won but needed to keep one of his balls up for a chance at the 200). Liz Lancaster 1440, Sam Hall 1370 (Sam was out in front but a rash shot took the black peg out and he couldn't quite claw it back). Glen Wilkinson 1300, Pete Shaw 880 (Glen, with a good firm win, finished off in the final rubber).
So, a swift return to Division One for the (ex-) Horny Ones! It was fun while it lasted.
