Depending on how this turns out and the semi the final will probably be played before finals night I was always working on this assumption avoiding congestion on Finals Night. Lorraine made it clear from the start that it would have to be played prior to Finals Night this also keeps it on League tables.

Hmmm. It's strange how in both pools 2nd & 3rd places are set to play each other in the final week & have a 3 point difference but 3rd place having a higher overall score than 2nd place.

Plough 3 Watermill 2
Watermill pushed Plough all the way and it could have gone they're way in 2 of the games. well done to The Plough on winning all 5 of the group games and top Pool 2.

Brewers 3 HHUSC B 2
Neil Higgins 4970 John Lear (900) 2880 Terry Molloy 7020 Steve King (300) 1100 Neil & Trevor 6430 Ian & Darrell (1200) 3700 Terry & Ros 2710 Paul & Chris (300) 2790 Helen Cleveland (1810) Paul (300) 6280
Well played The Brewers who played well & ignored any Handicaps we had and just went for it. At 3-0 we were facing a whitewash but needed 2 points to end up runners up in the pool. Terry caught up and it came down to the last ball Terry missed the 100 and Chris needed the 200 which he sunk first go. this is the 3rd match I've been involved in the last 2 weeks where this has happened and it was crucial. Paul caught up the handicap in the last leg & went on to win giving us the second point.
a good evening with Ros & co followed by Pizza.

Hassocks A won 5-0 tonight A great result for Hassocks A to put them back in the mix. Our game was postponed at the request of the visitors, and will be played next Wed (26th). Apologies that Hassocks A now have to wait on tenterhooks for a week - not our fault this time - honest ! When we play next Wednesday, St Francis will be looking for 3 frames and no less than 5 will do for the Windmill. If both fail it opens the door for Hassocks. Really amazing that HHUSC A with all their mighty scoring are already out of the equation. A good competition.

Yes, the teams I play in had a run of winning last-ball 200's in April: Adam at RCC (Horsham), me at HHUSC (Mid-Sussex) and Windmill (Horsham) and Chris at Brewers (Mid-Sussex). Overall results: RCC won H&D div 2, HHUSC B in MSBB charity cup semi's. All worked out well in the end.

Brinkmanship and coincidence I can relate to. My team's speciality is "ties": The half-point earned by Graham for us at the Cock was the fine line between success and failure. Evocative of the 2007/8 season when Johnny's half-point at the White Horse decided the League in our favour from .... Hurst B (who ? )

Windmill Crawley v St Francis - p'pd, playing 26th AprGraham 2660 Shaun 4540 Graham well ahead but tragically pegged a break of 4k. A grateful Shaun used up time.
