Windmill GG 2 V The bull 3 @ Roffey Sc No player v Andy So the bull went 3-0 up and match was over excellent result tonight Yes I must apologise to my teammates for my "no show" last night, albeit due to circumstances beyond my control. After being obliged to stay an extra day on the island of Guernsey, I was still determined to race back and make it in time to play. The fast-speed catamaran set off 15 minutes behind schedule, but the captain announced they were planning to make the time up, which would have meant an e.t.a. of 19.30 hrs. When it came to the crunch the crossing actually took longer due to the wind shifting to a northwesterly (headwind) and we docked at 20.00 hrs and there was no way I could have made it back from Poole in time for the last game (22.10 hrs). I had actually reached Chichester by half past nine, but it would have been an unreasonable test of peoples' patience to ask them to wait around longer. Had the ferry been on time, the extra half hour would have allowed me to make the deadline. So once again our loss is the Bull's gain, but a big well done to Tony, Graham, Mick and Johnny for their brave performance.
