Brian Daniels won his first national title tonight beating Nigel Senior :'( in the final of the alternative rules.
It was a tough table that the final was played on and Brian had a 150 point lead going into leg 2. After I got nothing from my break shot Brian knocked in a 700 break - a lead which he preserved throughout the final leg.
I did get a consolation with the highest break of the day of 1,130. However Tony Woolvin did have a 1,260 break in the plate made of of just 6 shots - work that one out!
Ray Sturgess and Geoff Jukes were the losing semi finalists.
Keith Sheard won the plate from Tony Woolvin.
It was a disappointing show of just 34 entrants.
Well done indeed to Brian who got the better of me on a tough table and beat some good players today such as Barry Holt and Ray Sturgess.

Obviously a couple of 100's and maybe a red in the 200
My opponent knocked 700 of 3 shots,
Red in the 50, followed by a lucky lip into the 200 then to finish off the red in the 100 so there's 700....
Did the highest break only count in the main comp then ?

It always does, and quite rightly so.
